I've been following this thread for the last one month and found this forum very useful. The forum members are very helpful in giving thier suggestions. Based on the opinions expressed by different members, I've narrowed down to the following models.
Samsung 46D7000
Samsung 46D6600
Sony NX 720 (not released in India, but would like to consider when it is available).
Sony NX710

Could you please suggest which one is best among the ones I've listed here? Or anything else which I missed out.

Have you check the Cinema range from LG ? I did last weekend, if nothing atleast the lighter and flicker-free glasses were something cool...i am not sure technically ..but the overall 3D experience was quite good....

I checked LG model as well and I liked its 3D picture, however could not check its 2D PQ. Also did not get a chance to compare all these models side by side. I'm thinking of waiting until diwali to see if the prices would drop further (hoping that NX720 will also be released by then).

I am currently in Muscat for a week! I do not recommend either Sony or Samsung with their Active tech.

The LG Cinema 3D is far most pleasant experience. I could really notice the flickering in both Sony and Samsung. Some people say that the 3D in active TVs is much better than passive, I would disagree. The glasses are way lighter and cheaper to buy. 500 bucks a pop!

The LG range I believe in India is currently limited to 2 model ranges only. The 4500 and 5700.

4500 is the cheaper version with is 100Hz, no smart TV, no fancy remote support (motion one)
The 5700 is a 200Hz, local dimming, smart TV, motion remote (have to buy separately)

The only downside to the passive TVs is the horizontal resolution is halved while watching 3D content. This can be noticed if you are sitting under 3-4 feet from the screen. Anything over 5-6 feet I could not notice it.

Current prices for the 5700 42" is around 87k and the 47" is around 115k
The 4500 42" is around 77k and the 32" is around 60k

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
