Best out of Sammy C6200/Sony HX800/LG LE5500 / Panny V20D/ Sony EX710 ?

May be any V20 owner can reconfirm the same. Rather re-assurance. And what about this judder?

CNET themselves had followed up on the article and mentioned that its nothing to worry about, they also kind of accepted in their follow-up article that it was blown out of proportion.

Thanks... I hope you tried to mean that you have not noticed black level degradation.

What type of judder have you observed and is there any workaround or remedy to that?

I have seen that the judder in most cases is present in the source as well, for e.g some movies which i tried had some fast panning scenes, i noticed the same even while watching on my PC. I initially though its the set but then i tried some other sources with fast camera pan scenes and the judder was absent.

Best way to try out is take your own source to the showroom and play it ;)

Is there any sure shot mechanism to reproduce this judder? :)

Any movie with panned shots. For example scenes like Dark Knight where Batman stands atop a high rise and the camera pans across. Similar scenes in Transformers. . Action movies may be a good way to judge judder as they do contain lot of such panning movements.

The below link would give a good idea of what it looks like. But the problem in this case may be native to the panel as well possibly which is LCD as i do not think they are playing a movie here. After all judder is generally because of movies that are shot at the standard 24 frames per second )

Dudes One last question.....

Considering PQ, IS Panny V20 better than LG LE-5500??

I visited Reliance digital, CROMA, Adishwars,Pai, LG and Panasonic exclusive...

I am awefully impressed by LE5500 compared to anyother LED tv at that price range....
V20 is also good but except for the motion flow difference wat more advantage it has over the LE5500?

Please explain....

V20 is better than LE-5500.

The advantages are : V20 has better blacks, contrast, picture depth.

If you feel you like LE-5500 is better then go for it cause what you has to satisfy you first so don't care about what others say.

Hi,

Based on many reviews and experience of folks out there, I am planning to purchase VIERA TH-P42V20D. I have a question about the burn in ... do Airtel/Tata-sky TV logos have any negative affect on the life of the screen? They are pretty much static pictures.

thanks,
kshitij

kshitij,

Do you get 3 year warranty as a routine from Panasonic? Is it full warranty? Reliance Digital told me that I need to pay Rs.4,100 extra for one year of additional warranty for only labour service (material extra). Is this after 3 years? Is it worthwhile? What have you done? Please clarify. Thanks.

I finally made the payment... the TV is on its way... I got it from Panasonic showroom on 100ft road in Koramangla. I paid 61k.

Clarifications:
1. The warranty is routine three year warranty that covers the panel, burn in and other components. It does not cover TV burnout due to power fluctuations etc. and the guy told me to buy a good voltage stabilizer.
2. Burn-in is supposedly a non-issue. There is a method called pixel shifting if the TV detects that there is a logo on a screen for a longer period of time.
3. This model is different from European models as THX is absent. This, is also supposedly a non issue since we do not get a lot of THX encoded content anyway. Otherwise all other hardware component are the same.

This model is fast going out of circulation. I could find it only in this showroom.

Hope it helps for others to make a decision.
