Hello Folks!

As the title suggests, I am looking out for best Tamil/ Telugu Blu-rays - with best Picture and sound effects quality, ofcourse the movie being entertaining in first place.

A few I know already exist is Sivaji, Endhiran, Ayan etc. Any more suggestions, recommendations and also where can I buy them in Hyd/Chennai apart from importing them ?

A friend of mine is coming down from Singapore for Diwali- any specific places where he can buy cheaper Blur-rays ?

Thanks!

Its better to buy from singapore. Any Blu-ray from ayngaran is close to hollywood blu-rays in quality. But I dont know where to get those in singapore. I heard those discs are costly in singapore too. Tamil movies I like in blu-ray are

1) Chandramukhi
2) Endhiran
3) Sivaji
4) Billa
5) Singam

Basha is available in blu-ray from pyramid. Never ever look at that. They have invented how to show a blu-ray in DVD quality.

Apart from the movies mentioned above Ayngaran has released some video songs collection, and they are really awesome. Again none of the ayngaran releases are officially retailed in India.

If I am right reliance has released few tamil movies in blu-ray. I have not seen them, so dont know about their quality.

Telugu movies I like in blu-ray are

1) Magadheera
2) Dookudu
3) Arundhathi
4) Pokkiri

Thank Jeyaraj!

Very helpful! I have asked my friend to go around and check out this week. Let me see if I strike any luck here!

Op, you get the discs at HMV in suntec Singapore. You can try silver screen in Adelphi they stock most of BD's. walk down Colman st you will find lot of shops selling.

Magadheera & Arundhathi should be on the list... not entirely sure though the are reference quality. I'd also agree with Dookudu for sheer entertainment value. Also, Srinu Vaitla's Ready is another personal favorite thanks to the entertainment factor.

In Tamil, apart from the usual Rajni fare I'd also recommend Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa or its Telugu version Ye Maaya Chesave.

+1 to vinnaithaandi varuvaaya. I think its not ayngaran release but still better one in quality. Try and get the video songs collection(Digital Musical Ray) in tamil. They are really good.

Another telugu movie which was good in BD quality was Oosaravelli, but movie is difficult to sit through. TBM BD video quality was some what yellowish and dull. I was expecting it to be good but did not find so. I would like to see Mayabazaar from chandamama in BR.

no dont go for arundhati bluray..its one of the worst bluray i have seen..bad quality picture..very inconsistent colours.

dvd is better for arundhati.

while magadheera is very good on bluray.

and also get vedam movie on bluray..

now waiting for EEGA bluray!! :)

@ukjeyaraj
