Hi,

My brother is going on a visit to America in the next week. I am thinking of getting some blu-ray discs through him. Can our forum friends suggest as to which region should we select while purchasing a blu-ray disc. The regions are categorized as A, B, C, Which is the safest of them so as to be played on a blu-ray player in India, which incidentally I have not purchased yet.

Actually I am confused, as to whether one should buy discs according to the player or vice versa. One of my friends suggested me to go for a all-region/region free blu-ray player. Does it solve the problem then. i.e. when we buy an all-region player then shall we be able to play any type of discs may it be A, B, OR C.

If at all there are players which are region-free, please let me the make and models.

Thanks and regards

JAYANT

If you cannot get a 'All Region' player, then I strongly recommend that you buy a Region A player and not a Region C player. India is Region C, but it is better to buy a Region A player. There is very little 'Region C' specific blu-ray discs.
