Hi folks,

I am looking for a bluetooth speakers that can sit on a small bedside table, mostly for streaming Internet radio from a android phone.

Any suggestions. There are a plethora of speakers online, so it is becoming very confusing. I like a good clear midrange with a bit of bass too. Budget 2.5K.:ohyeah:

A little tough to find a "Good" decent BT for 2.5, but below is what I have auditioned ..

1. JBL GO ... for 2K
2. JBL Flip II ... 5.5K
3. Jabra Soulmate ...4K
4. Logitech x300 ... 3K

I finally went for JBL Charge II + .... for 6000 from US and it Rocks.

Earlier I had Logitech Boom Box, which I got it for 4K, and it was mind blowing for the size it is packed in. It still sells for the same price I guess.

Thanks Sam, I will try to increase my budget for this one. Also, any reviews about the Altec Lansing MiniInmotion and SoundBot SB571

Also, Sam, my original idea was to get a Grace Digital Radio; but later thought a BT speakers + phone would do. However, what do you think of the Grace Internet radio devices. Seeing that you host a radio station of your own, I would appreciate your thoughts!

Frankly I am not very sold on to the idea of getting a dedicated "device" just for internet radio. I had SBT with me that I used to listen to Music and Online Radio as well, but even that at later stage I found to be redundant, as I could do the same with a Rpi and external DAC for much lesser price (after selling it) and internet radio I can access from any device, be it phone or laptop or Rpi itself running Moode ......

So for me, a BT speaker will make more sense, then again that's just my personal opinion, you might not agree with it .. :)

Coming to OP, AL Mini looks good, I have not auditioned it so cannot comment, however there were couple of AL BT speakers I did listen to (for under2K) but was not at all impressed (given the fact AL were a name in Desktop speakers at one point of time). SoundBot never heard the name, but dont go just by reviews, never atleast in sound department, go out and auditioned them, how so ever much pain you have to take or give to the store people ...:D

Hope this helps .....

Logitech X300 sounds very good to my ears. I have extensively listened to the UE Boom and the much larger JBL Xtreme and the X300 is the most pleasing and sounds balanced. I can count 5 X300s in my family itself. Avoid the barrel shaped front to back speaker designs, phase cancellation ruins the party making them sound thin.

How about a Bluetooth receiver that can be connected to an existing setup or any computer speakers lying unused.

Logitech Bluetooth Audio Receiver

MaSh
Well if that is the route one wants to take, I would then recommend Chrome cast audio connected to your existing setup instead of any BT reciever. But that's not what OP is looking for.
