Bought Samsung C450 Plasma.

HI friends.
Finally after so much consideration today bought the sammy c450.
Amount paid- 47k.
Will come home on 29 and later installation within 48 hours.

Played twilight dvd rip and avatar blueray rip at the showroom to check the usb playback capability.
Avatar looked amazing and twilight was also damn good.
SD content is satisfactory and will check more at home conditions.

Am glad though the price changed and has to pay 4k more still cos of usb playback money for wd tv is saved.

Would be wall mounted.
Happy with the purchase as of now

Please clarify played which type of files ( Mkv)you have played and also the size of the file which it could recognize as maximum( larger than 4gb?)

The best Way to go forward is to use a DVD calibration disc (Avia is good) and make your settings.
Let the settings grow on you your sensitivity to small setting changes such as RGB gain etc will improve.

my c550 was showing a good deal of TIR(temporary image retension) so i guess c450 would be similar. Keep brightness and contrast less than 50% for the initial 100-150hours. Run some breakin slides to accelerate the process and also it will help age evenly, and you can do the calibration after the 100-hours

Does it support NTFS hdd on USB?

for initial 100-150 hours
-use movie mode only..
-brightness and contrast below 50..
-play only full screen content (no black bars)..
-avoid DTH/cable (if possible) due to static logos..
-set everything that is dynamic to OFF..

calibrate only after 100-150 hours of use..

I will be getting it wall mounted but that will happen when samsung ppl will come for installation in next 48 hours.

Till then can we open it and place it on the stand??

Please don't .......... too many issues still exist with the plasmas ..... you may be blamed for one, if you happen to be unfortunate enough to get any.

Why on earth take a chance for a few moments ecstacy .... hey, you would be seeing that black 'rectangle' for quite some time .... have patience...

I opened it myself immediately after it got delivered.
Call your dealer and check it is OK with him.
because if damaged in transit then it has to be returned back.

Make sure its not a demo piece.. guidelines are there in a sticky thread..

It got delivered.
Asked the delivery people to open it in front of me.
Looks like a good company packing to me atleast.

Asked them to put it back in the box so when installation people come they will do everything as its big and i dont wanna risk anything.

God this waiting is killing

Firstly Congratulations.
It appears that you have picked up the tv from Croma. You had mentioned in your earlier posts in other thread that Croma is closer to your place and you wanted to buy the 450 from there.

This is something I posted earlier also in another thread.
I checked out the price of the tv today again. You have clearly paid approx 10K more for the tv.
42c450 is easily available for 38000 in Delhi and that too without much bargaining from a reputed dealer. Even I am planning for this set and am confident of getting it for around 36-37K.
Cannot understand why you paid such high amount.
Its another thing that for 47000 Rs you could have got a Samsung 40c530 LCD.

Nope ... Harry got only the 42C450 plasma. Initially he had posted that the price was 43k and then the next time it had gone up to 47k and they were not willing to reduce etc. In contrast, the LG 42PJ350 (entry level model) is available for 37k. Fantastic VFM.

I myself have ordered the LG 50PJ560 plasma for 59k. May get it tomorrow evening or max Sat morning.

Ahhhh... only if i had known it before.. But now its paid so..anyways rough deals are part of life

D bad part is still not installed.
Disappointed with samsung people.Isnpite of many calls and their promises they didnt send anyone today to get it installed

Ya its from croma.
Checked all LG models but wasnt impressed by the PQ.
Now only if gets installed..damn them!
