Hi all, how is Jamo S428 speakers? Any inputs on price, good and bad about JAMO..I am also considering dali Zensor 5 and Polk TSx 330, out off 3 can you rate the best as per your experience?? off course all are in little different price brackets, but I need inputs on their audio quality ..

In this budget with your interest more towards movies I will suggest NAD T748 AVR......
what's your budget for speakers???

Hi, Finally my speaker shopping is over, I have settled with Tannoy v4 floor standers with tannoy VC as center speaker with wharfedale D10 DFS surrounds for back.. Got the speakers delivered, will hook up weekend and play little with my HTS

hi Good evening,

Finally my HTS set up is over, I used auto calibration for 4 positions and saved settings. Watching movies is amazing, especially surround effect of Wharfedale DFS is fantastic. Yesterday i watched x men 2 and electra movies over Movies Now HD channel, the shooting sequences and the action involving flights were treat to watch. Tannoy V4 also good mainly the dialogues are clear and crisp from center speaker. I am just loving it..

I am yet to listen to Audio CD in detail for finer observations, may be i will spend whole day this Sunday with my system, I am yet see all features of my Denon AVR.

Good morning to all,

After listening and enjoying my new HTS all these days, came back to share few things and also to seek your suggestions for Stereo set up.

Update 1 : Added Velodyne impact 12 subwoofer to my system:licklips::licklips:
Definitely it improved my movie experience by leaps and bound, the action sequences become more joy to watch, more boss is added to even music, so overall i am happy with it :yahoo::yahoo:

Update 2 : Sadly HDMI output on my new Denon x1000 is not working, Complained to service center, Technician from Kripa electronics Bangalore attended, took the system to their place and said IC is burnt(reason not known),they need to replace the HDMI board which has to come from Mumbai.:sad::sad::sad:

Update 3: Yesterday I received the Denon, working fine but sound volume is less??? tried using audessy to set up, still not happy, need to fine tune settings, searching for a piece of paper where i had written previous settings

So, during these periods without my Denon reciever which i missed badly, i started to think about buying stereo amp to use along with my tannoy floor standers to listen purely to music in the morning hours / may be late nights. I read a lot in forum, searched web, but need your inputs on following

Option 1 . Buy Integrated stereo amp with Digital inputs with 75 - 80 RMS minimum output , since my sony and lG bluray players dont have analog out and are connected to music stored on my WD 2TB network storage device. But small problem is how to plug my Tannoys with both receiver at the same time???( i may have to keep seperate wires for speakers and keep changing the wires at speaker ends as per my usage)

Option 2. Buy DAC with pre out and use my Denon receiver as amp and play in direct mode. But how much quality will be improved ?? Does this set up is as good as separate stereo amp set up???

So please enlighten me with your take on above points and suggest me the models to buy like Cambridge audio / Marauntz / onkyo / etc..etc

My Budget is approx Rs 40000/.

I am thinking of buying either Arcam irDAC or Cambridge audio Dac magic plus, use as preamp and connect the RAC out to Denon x1000. I dont know how to make my denon simply act as power amp with out doing any audio processing?

so please help me to make right choice / investment..

My purpose of buying DAC is to have separate stereo set up at later date by adding power amp. Till then, I love to listen better audio using present set up..
