Hi,

I did start a new thread about buying a new system for my studio
right here on this forum.

http://www.hifivision.com/speakers/19423-system-photographers-studio.html

I am not to kicked about throwing away 25k worth of stuff
i.e. the Topping TP-20 Amp, Cambridge Audio S-30 & HRT Music Streamer II.

I think a subwoofer or a more powerful amp might help in getting the system up to speed.

Please suggest a subwoofer or what else I might need to get this system working alright.

Let me answer my own question for the benefit of other non-audiophliles.

Yes, you can.

Just got myself a Focal Cub 2, Active Subwoofer.

The L-R leads from the Topping Amplifier go into the subwoofer.
The L-R outs from the sub go into the Cambridge S-30 bookshelfs.

Not all subwofers can do this.
Please check before putting your money down.

The audio salesmen at one of the dealers told me its impossible
to connect a subwoofer to a 2 channel amplifier. He had never done it in his life. He asked me to buy a receiver just to connect the subwoofer :ohyeah:

How much did u pay for the subwoofer and hows the effect on your speakers since the signal is from the subwoofer?

19k.

Its a great addition to the system.

No matter how good a pair of speakers they are, expecting it to perform an allrounders job is not fair. I don't need to drive them as loud as before.

Checking the effect of the sub is pretty simple.
You can switch the sub off and the speakers continue to play on.

I think it was a worthy addition to the system.
