Just a handful of coloured discs here, and perhaps one or two picture discs (Abbey Road, Sgt.Peppers). Picture discs are not designed for playing (more for framing, or merely for collecting), as they get damaged severely after one or two plays. Coloured vinyl used to be, and still is, quite popular as limited editions. Certain jazz labels like Fantasy (in the 50s and 60s) regularly issued large prints of red and blue vinyl. There were even coloured 78s in their heyday.
Basically all vinyl is colourless, see-through, plastic at the outset, and a black colouring agent is added to produce the standard stuff. It's likewise easy to introduce any colour of choice. There were cases of rogue factory workers producing a few coloured discs of major artists surreptitiously, to sell off in the collectors black market, and many of these today are highly sought after, as are regular issues, like the red vinyl Beatles titles on the Odeon label from Japan in the 60s.
It's tough to buy coloured vinyl in the second hand market in India, because the dealers automatically assume that they're all collectible, and they jack up the rates accordingly.
