Hi Folks,
A piece of advice please.
I have a CA 540 Azur Integrated Amp and I wanted to connect my old iPhone to it. Currently I use an airport express as a wireless streamer to the Amp but of late, my old iPhone isn't being realised. Instead of junking the phone, I wanted to connect it with a cable to my old Amp.
How should I do the same ?
Which DAC should I buy and would be the connections.
Any advise will help
thanks and regards

Iphone -> CCK -> USB -> DAC -> Amp

If amp has built in dac then dont buy the dac. Never use wireless devices down the chain to the amp. Use good old wires.

The simplest way is to use apple's own dac along with a 3.5mm to rca cable.

Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter https://amzn.eu/d/7lvXfYu

Cablecreation Rca To 3.5Mm 3 Feet Audio Cable, 3.5Mm Male To 2Rca Male Rca Cable, Y Splitter Stereo Audio Cable For Subwoofer, Receiver, Speakers And More, 0.9Meter, Gold Plated https://amzn.eu/d/7tRIcda

You might not get lossless via this setup. For lossless you'll need an external dac along with apple's camera adaptor.

Whatever you use finally, either the headphone jack from the phone or the lightning to3.5 mm jack, pls make sure your output to your amp is 2volts or just less than that. Easily calibrated with a Multimeter and a 3.5 mm male plug.

Which dongle dac gives out more than 2v?

I dont know, its just good to check once and adjust the volume on the phone accordingly or check the spec sheet if thats the plan forward.

It's not a concern. 2v can be considered as a standard. Volume control would anyways be varying as per usage.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
