I bought Panasonic 5.1 channel HT
Its producing satisfying bass and overall sound for my hall when I play DVD or USB but when I am connecting my laptop to it by AVR cord (3.5mm jack for audio out and red and white for AUX in) I am not atall getting the same sound effect, the bass is getting reduced by almost 90% and the sound is not at all satisfying
Can you pls suggest me a corrected way to connect it to my laptop so that it produce same effect even when the source is laptop in AUX mode ? else everytime I will have to copy paste the content to a pen drive or write it to CD/DVD

:sad::sad:

are you saying the same content is giving different sound quality when played directly vs. played via laptop? if so then it must be due to the lower quality DAC in your laptop. what happens when you send the analog signal through the stereo to RCA cable is that the sound would get decoded at your laptop and sent to the amplifier for simple reproduction.

In that case it would be best to connect the sound also through HDMI in case your laptop has one, in this case the pure digital signal will be sent to the amplifier and it will do the decoding.

It is unlikely that these HTs have HDMI or other digital inputs. I assume the op is getting bassy sound when the music is played through the built in dvd player of the HTIB. When AUX input is used, the subwoofer may not be functioning. Check with the surround modes like dolby prologic in your HTIB.

You could also try changing the settings of your music player of your laptop. For example if you use winamp you could select a high base preset from the equaliser and see if it helps.

What operating system are you using and what is the onboard sound card of your laptop? Check the settings of your soundcard in your OS.

Also, as Sanchit suggested check out Winamp and other players and each player sounds different even with the same source.
