Converting an Existing guest room vs Building a new one in the Terrace

I am planning to get a reasonably low cost Instalock screen for now and confused about the dimensions.

As per Projector central Epson Tw8100 for a distance of 13ft should produce a maximum image of 134" but I am getting only 122"(I have used the Pattern setting and measured only the white border line).

Also with this pattern setting the horizontal width is 105" and height is 59", so please suggest if I can go for a 120" 16:9 screen or only 110" screen.

I have given below the Image size dimensions for the 120" 16:9 and 4:3 ratio also for 135".

The last row represents my current maximum image size and matches exactly with 120" 16:9 screen, but thinking about the cost can I go for a 135" 4:3 screen and just slide till 59" to make it a perfect 16:9 screen? Please suggest.

Size / Format H.Area V. Area Cost
120" / 16:9 104.6" 58.8" 14000
120" / 4:3 96.0" 72.0" 6900
135" / 4:3 108.0" 81.0" ??
120" 105" 59"

Update,

I have purchased a 120" 16:9 instalock Winton screen for 8.5K+Tax :yahoo:.
This was the one readily available with the dealers, all were having 4:3 screens and for 16:9 will have to wait for more than a week.

This screen looks nice with black borders and seems to be of good quality material. When we pull the screen initially there seems to be some slight wrinkles at the top corners because of the pulling which goes away after sometime and the dealer say this will go after some usage.

Will have to wait for a week before going back to the dealer. I will shortly post few snaps.

Congrats.

Please post comparision pictures between wall projection & screen projection and your observations.

Hi All,

Please find below few snaps taken today with my iphone(My digital camera seems to be dead and will need to be replaced).

I am sorry for the mobile quality pictures and these were taken at 11am in the morning today. The dark grey shade on the ceiling provides great ambience now.

I was not keeping well throughout last week and had to visit hospital multiple times so was not able to utilize the long weekend fully.

In the beginning my aspect ratio for the Epson TW 8100 was set as Auto, and I somehow changed this to Normal.

Now I am not able to select any of the options listed there like Auto, Zoom etc..Can someone suggest me how to change the Aspect ratio?

The pictures are having vibrant colors & higher contrast.

Is it your projector mounted on roof ? (I remember you have some issues on projector location) If possible, share the picture of Projector & screen (Day/Night time picture without projector ON)

Yes this is mounted on roof at a distance of 14 feet from the screen and I did not make any modification to the behind bathroom wall.

Yes will take some snaps of the projector and screen and will post shortly.

Congrats.! Looks with simple setup you have acheived a lot without alterning your room.
Do you have any future plan for expansion? (Higher sized screen, Audio setup...etc)

Thanks Swamy.

Yes will definetly be adding a better Audio, Initially a Denon AVR and 2 FS speakers and 1 Center speaker and will most probably do the purchase in November.

I have enquired about Denon AVR in few shops of Burmabazar and got the following quote:

2113 - 34K(49K MRP)
2313- 48K(79K MRP)
3313- 64K(99K MRP)

They currently do not have X2000 models. I am leaning more towards 3313 but as these are without B&W I am also slightly confused.

Also another problem had creeped in, for the past 2 days there seems to be a water leakage problem in the bathroom behind the projector. We had replaced the entire
tile flooring for the bathroom last year and now Plumber had done some white cement plastering again to arrest the leak. I will have to wait for 1 more week to
make any decision on this bathroom.

In case the leakage continues will need to remove the bathroom(after convincing my wife) and will then get a perfect 20 by 13 room. In that case can even upgrade to a 150" fixed screen.

20 by 13 is owesome size for HT naren. (Let the water leakage continues :))

I bought a entry level sony stereo system long back (10 years back) in Burma Bazzar (Without B&W), But after that i realised, it is a duplicate system. (It looks sony but the quality output will be a cheap one).

Without B&W is something buying from GEB. (No india warranty).

If the product is real one (Test it before buy), you can buy. (Temptating price).
What about 1713 (it looks the pervious version of X2000)?

I am focusing amps having discrete channels with EQ with the price around 30K. (5.1 is enough for my room size) Found Marantz NR1403 around 25k in Hifimart.

3313 interms of MRP price looks, it is in premium range.

Update the model & price once you decide the AVR.
