Coopa Media Player

It is looking decent media player. The build quality looks good to me.

The seller claims that this player had been reviewed by AV Max this December(2011) along with a Denon HTiB and Mitashi 32" LCD and given 5 stars (*****).

Looking to go for it. Can any one please confirm that, in future, if I buy a decent DAC then the quality of streaming media player doesn't effect the audio quality?

Just received my Coopa HD Player at my Office :yahoo:. Cost me Rs.4300 (app) with ebay discount coupon. The build quality is amazing. It looks aluminium chassis to me :clapping:. The remote is not so good. Looking like the RC of cheap DVD players that are available.

Can't wait to go home and hit this with some music and videos. Detailed review to follow after that. :licklips:

COOPA PLAYER - FIRST IMPRESSION
Today I got my first media player from Ebay and the player is impressive to look at. The build quality is nice.

I am yet to buy a LCD TV and DAC. So it is pretty basic test with the analogue output of the player.

Video:
I played some SD and HD on my CRT TV. At first the quality wasn't decent at all. There was hardly any color and the picture looked dull. After some setting in TV picture and player's video setting things got into groove. The PQ was decent but there is hardly any difference in SD and HD (that very well may be because of my old CRT TV which can't go beyond a point in terms of PQ).

Audio
Then, I played some FLAC and MP3 hooking it to my Sonodyne SIA using analogue output. I didn't expect and it didn't deliver any quality sound. The output is low in volume and the sound is muddy. No sound stage at all, what so ever. The sound was in between my two speakers. The mids were decent though, not harsh to ears. In one word, it can play audio files, don't expect anything more than that.

Finger Crossed
Let me buy a LCD TV. I will check the PQ on it. I hope it will not disappoint me via HDMI. A LCD/LED/Plasma is due for a long time now and somehow it is getting delayed.

Good News
The good news is that the both o/p HDMI and SPDIF has options to output PCM or RAW. So taking the raw output and feeding into a decent DAC will do the job quite well, I think.

Ordered a FiiO D3 DAC and a TOSLINK cable for my Coopa player just now from UK Amazon. A friend of mine traveling back, so she will carry it on 15th of Jan. Nice way to start new year. :P

I don't have any AV receiver. My Stereo Amp (SIA 102r) has only analog RCA inputs.

Do we get proper stereo Amp with digital input? It will be nice to know. I checked Sonodyne, DNM, Pulz, Norge. They don't have any digital input.

Here I am guys with review of Coopa HD player after extensive 12 hours test. God this player is fast! It is playing every format with ease and effortlessly. I will start a thread with in-depth review of this player.

Till then, those want to buy it, absolutely "go, go, go" for them but make sure you have an AVR. The anaolg o/p is like mono you may feel with very poor channel seperation.
