Hi,
I have not seen great reviews of Onkyo on my previous thread Onkyo HT-R558 -Receiver + SKS-HT528 5.1 Speaker System or Onkyo HT-S4505 so looking for other option .One would be as follows
1)Denon 1513+Jamo s426
2)Denon1713 +Jamo s426
Now the issue is budget so not planning for sub.Need to know what would i miss if i do not buy the sub now .
But if there is any other speaker system which can go with Denon 1513/1713 please let me know.My Requirement is both movies and music . Which place is it good to buy Pro FX (http://www.profx.com)or thehome theatre store (The Home Theater Store) in terms of sales and service
Thanks

As a starter system- Suggest you go with the Denon 1713 with a pair of Paradigm Millenia One 2.0 Speakers- This will help your Music as well as Home Theater setup

As your budget allows- You can always upgrade your speakers and use the Millenia One Speakers as your surround

Hi All,
I took the demo of Denon 1713 and the Jamo s426 at HT Store Bangalore and was blown away by the combination. The lack of sub was clearly visible when movies was played not so much for music . So with this issue and the budget constraint i am thinking should i really need a sub now or is it fine to upgrade later . So i was wondering if i should go for any other speaker system with powered sub. Also what is the opinion on Yamaha v473 compared to Denon 1713.
Please suggest for suitable speaker system or should i stick with Denon1713 +Jamo s426 without sub.Planning to purchase during Ugadi
Thanks

It was about 60k without the Sub . That is the reason i was looking for a speaker system for AVR Denon 1713.
Thanks

i had called them on nos. listed on website. i went for whole package and got quote for 65k. In bill they have charged 30k for 1713.

Also what is the opinion on Yamaha v473 compared to Denon 1713.

Both Yamaha RX-V473 and Denon1713 are at equal footing. The difference is your preference. That's why I said take the demo of both of them first and let your ears decide which is the best.

In general opinion, Yamahas are considered as musical and Denons as warm & punchy....so again it's finally you who has to listen to the sound. You can check out Pioneer AVRs as well.

With my entertainment space is 12*12 is it ideal to go for Jamo S426HSC or should i also check for Tannoy HTS 101 . The cost of Jamo with Magnat sub is equal to Tannoy HTS 101 . So cost wise no issue but the confusion is which speaker system is good the Tannoy HTS101 or the Jamo s426 HSC with Magnat sub. Please provide comparision point which will help to decide . I am going for Denon AVR 1713.
Thanks
Sunil

I heard the Denon 1913 and the Tannoy HTS 101 combination and its awesome..
I have frozen this for my purchase.. No place in old house, so will wait till new place is ready to place order..(3-4 weeks)

I also heard the Paradigm with Denon and that was rocking as well, so was confused for sometime between the 2 to choose..

Hi gary144in,

i havent had chance to play around with setup but I am liking it. I am no audiophile but the sound is warm and bass heavy and more suited my needs of watching movies. Till now I am happy with my purchase. :)

mod-the-pc,

i had checked reliance digital and their quote is for 5.0 speaker set without Sub. I got s436 5.0 (20k) + jamo 210 Sub (15k) which i think was a decent deal.

Hi Kartikay,
Yesterday, one of the Reliance Digital sales rep updated over phone that Jamo HCS 426 has been discontinued. I am doubtful.
Which Reliance Digital quoted 20K for this set?

Regards,
Sharad

Dear Friends
Is it good to go with Jamo S426 without Sub or is the sub necessary. If i go for the sub then is the Magnat sub good enough (Magnat - Monitor Supreme 201A). Also recommend a good 5.1 book shelf speakerS for 30-45k as second option to the Jamo S426 .
Thanks

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
