Denon 1513+Jamo s426 or Denon1713 +Jamo s426

Hey Sunil,
Have you considered Magnat Monitor Supreme 1000 instead of Jamo 426? I have the Magnat and had auditioned the Jamo 426. In my opinion the Magnat system beats the sh1t out of Jamo 426 for movies. Magnats were much more powerful. Someone has put up the magnats for sale here on hfv sale thread - pls do consider them.
However please note that i don't listen to music on this system and cannot comment on the speakers' musical abilities.
I have the Yamaha v473 and it is a great receiver and goes well with Magnats.
In B'lore you can audition the Magnats either at Music Ranch Jayanagar or htstore in JP Nagar.

Hi gary144in,

i havent had chance to play around with setup but I am liking it. I am no audiophile but the sound is warm and bass heavy and more suited my needs of watching movies. Till now I am happy with my purchase. :)

mod-the-pc,

i had checked reliance digital and their quote is for 5.0 speaker set without Sub. I got s436 5.0 (20k) + jamo 210 Sub (15k) which i think was a decent deal.

~kartikay

Hi Kartikay,
Which Reliance Digital quoted 20K for Jamo S426? One of the RDs in Bangalore informed me that this has been discontinued:sad:

Regards,
Sharad

Few friends are asking me to go for the Yamaha RX V473 compared to Denon AVR 1713. They say it has more features compared to the Denon AVR.
But i have observed that the no of HDMI Ports are less compared to the Denon. This is creating more confusion on top of the confusion whihc i already have for the speaker system if i should go for Jamo S 426HSC or the Tannoy HTS 101.So issues to be resolved
1) Which AVR-Denon AVR 1713 or Yamaha RX V473
2)Speakers System-Jamo S 426 HSC with Magnat Supreme Sub or the Tannoy HTS 101
My Preference is Movies and Music with Room size of 12*12.Planning to Buy on Ugadi which is 11th April 2013 so please help to resolve the issues
Thanks

I suppose these are different sets. Jamo S426 is a 5.1 package whereas Magnat Supreme 1000 is a FS pair. Cost wise also lots of difference, Jamo for 22K and Magnat for 32K...can not be compared. The suggestions to help seeking FM is given based on his budget and requirement.

Yamaha RX-V473 is a great sounding AVR, using it since last 40 days, the brand is known for it's clean and clear sound. Both Denon & Yamaha would not disappoint you.

Hi Sunil.

I would suggest to listen to both Denon and Yamaha with your choice of speakers and then decide. I was inclined towards yamaha when i started my search but in the end i liked Denon more and decided on that. :)
But yes having one HDMI input in front is real boon while connecting laptop to AVR.

In my case it happened exactly opposite, was getting Denon auditioned day in day out, but when I heard Yamaha, I quickly went ahead and bought it. So it's a very subjective issue. Hence audition is always recommended before making final decision.

Here's the way to go...

1.Devise your budget, AVR & speakers separately

2.Try to audition different combo falling in your budget ie X AVR + A speakers or Y AVR + A Speakers etc.

3. Get the one which you like the most.

Here in India, Magnat supreme is sold in 5.1 combo with surrounds from the same manufacturer. It was suggested mainly because a set was on sale here on hfv and it might just turn out to be a better investment if the OP likes the sound.

So both Jamo and Magnat are 5.0 packages.? Correct me if I am wrong. What is the costing?

I heard that the 2013 versions are already released for Yamaha RX V 475 while for Denon AVR E-300 .Not sure when they will be released but if is going to be in april /may then i will weight for that
They are the replacement for the 2012 Yamaha RX V473 and Denon AVR 1713. If any body has a update then better let me know about it.
Regarding the speaker i think should take a demo before deciding
Thanks
Sunil

Congrats Sunil !!!!!

I just loved the whole setup :clapping: ( the sofa :licklips:,the interior decoration, the curtains ).

Will contact you for more information as my house construction completes.

By the way, what are those panels behind the television which went went all the way across the ceiling? Are they acoustic panels or are they just for good look ?

The Panels which you see are the ones which are connected to the ceiling for some 4 LED Lights.
Please plan for your cabling when you plan for the home theatre.Inspite of planning we still end up having cables dangling which is kind of oversight and you then need to manage.
Thanks
