Hi All,
The biggest challange i feel after getting the HT setup is the cable management.Inspite of planning i felt we need to plan for the Cable Wires
length, Location for Speakers , No of switch and plug point.
AVR -Speaker --Please plan on the set-up based on your room size and budget.
1) I had installed the speaker cables which my Interior guy had put in but once i put the AVR and Speakers found the cables are not good so had
to purchase Bandridge cables from the HT Store and then remove the old wires and recable. This took lot of time so please buy a quality speaker
cable and add the cost of it to the HT Setup.Based on the dimension of the room please plan the cables and the routing
2 ) The Location of the speakers-This was a challange as different people gave different views . Finally had word with lokesh from HT Store and
installed the satellite speakers at 5 feet height. since the entertainment area is 12*12 feet put all the speakers in corners .The central speaker is
kept at the base of the TV.
3) There was another thing i overlooked was the switch and plug points . There are many plug point but issue was i had two seperate switches.1
for TV and another in the entertainment unit for DVD,Set top box and AVR.Planning to have it connected to one switch so that i can put all the
devices on of off by one switch instead of current set -top
4) Please plan have your entertainment unit ventilated as all the devices produces heat . Please keep lot of open space around the AVR and the
Tata sky set-top boxes.
5) Please also plan for the Universal Remote currently i have 4 remotes in my house and it is very cumbersome .
6) Finally when the AVR ,Speaker ,DVD,Tata sky set-top box the HDMI Cables ,speaker cables ,power cables, RCA Cables need to be managed properly or you will have lot of cables everywhere . Currently working on this issue and trying to keep it manageble.
In case i have missed something members can add their experience on the same
Thanks and Regards

Thanks for detailed explanation of your experience.

You mentioned that you used cheap speaker cable and then switched and then switched to better one. Can you please mention what speaker cable you used earlier (like the price, brand, gauge) ? Because, I am new to HT concept and don't know which cable is considered cheap. Asking so that I can stay away from it :)

And, did you use any panels (something like a switch board to connect the speaker) at speaker wire output points or just left a hole with a cable running out of it ?

I heard 1513 with Paradigm Sub-Sat system in Demo room & for the price sound was powerful & feeling of theater.SW has good punch & speaker package was for Rs.38K. Its a nice deal.

The Speaker Cables used earlier for 55 meter was about Rs 500 and then replaced it with Bandridge for same length at about Rs4000. So the variance is huge in terms of cost. I hope that clarifies

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
