Hi All

I am looking for a good HTS system.

My purpose is watching movies, listening to indian music more and rare western music.

I am more interestd in clarity of sound and not more into more punching bass effect

I am looking for a good receiver with latest features likes wifi/network and can be remotley upgradable for any new features released by te manufacture

I have chosen Denon 1612 A/V receiver + Polk TL600 spakers. Is Jamo better than polk?

Please suggest whether my choice is good or is there anything better. Budget max 50K.

Its a good choice and please audition once before you make up on decision.. Jamo has wide range and especially 606 ranges lot much depth and works well.. POLK TL1600 are good combo,. You may try Denon 1713 or 1513 which has additional features.. depends how you budget it?

Hi buddy,
You can refer to this thread where I have posted reviews of many 5.1 packages, which could prove useful to you.But still don't jump to any conclusion before auditioning it..http://www.hifivision.com/home-theater/34288-onkyo-4505-yamaha-298-denon-1312xp.html#post454229

And BTW Denon 1612 doesn't have network facility which you are looking for..

Hi friends

Hi All

Finally i have bought the following

Denon 1513 with Diamond 10.1 speakers and thought of adding the rest later.

I compromised for USB and WLAN, which may not be a daily usage for me.

I got the entire combo for Rs.38600

Expereince:- Its excellent in sound clarity and yet to njoy movies in that. Also I need to upgrade my DVD player with HDMI compatible since mine is Analog DVD player.

very very wise going for step by step.....it will blow you away...when you will add a centre a play from hdmi and original 6 channle audio...
save money for that upgrade..
enjoy...
very nice decdision for going step by step...wharfedale rocks..

no you did not make a compromise on usb...its really useless..as you will play it anyway from a separate player fro quaklity output..and wlan is used really say once in 5 years....

enjoy

Hi

Thanks. Its really impressive. To justify my decision I have palyed same audio in My Old Sony Music System (DTS and with Hybrid twin woofer spakers) and then played in Wharfedale 10.1......

Unbelivable difference and clarity in voice and music and every one in my family reliazed and accpeted by choice :) :)

Now looking for simillar guidanec and suggestion for a good and Blu ray playet with USB, DLAN, WIFI support I have shortlisted one from []Philips. BDP5200[/I][/B]

Any Suggestion please

Hi Friends

Help me out on the finalization of BDP. My firned is travelling to singapore and thought of buying any one of this

1. Pioneer BDP450 - my concern is service centre and after sales support, incase if i gt inot any of the problems
2. Panasonic BDp220/110- i heard remote is a problem
3. Sony 490 - not sure whether it can play otyher than original DVDs and also can support all video formats

Please advice.......

I have no idea about the Pioneer but have both the Sony 490 bought in India & the Pana 220 (110V, imported via Amazon US)
The sony has absolutely no problem with dvds. I have played both original & pirated too. It probably is region coded for blu rays & haven't really tried other video formats.
Let me know which one you're worried about & I can check for you.
