Hi Guys,

I have Denon 1713 which worked well for the past 2 years, for the past 1 week I have some hiss and small short circuit like burst sounds from my front right and front surround channels. This is audible the moment I switch on the system and continues.

I have tried disconnecting all speakers, clean the terminals with Isopropyl alcohol, reset the micro processor and finally firmware upgrade.

What may be the issue?

Thanks,
Prem

Hi

Do a reset, connect the AVR to a different Electric outlet....one by one connect each speaker....you will need to put on and off the AVR everytime....this is a slow manual process but by this way you will know what possibly could be affecting ...keep us posted on what happens once you do all this....last resort....repair shop

Yes tried, connected the AVR from a friends home and also did the reset and firmware upgrade. Looks like service time...

Most likely DC passing into the right channels. Don't run the system till you get the AVR rectified, lest it would render the woofers useless. Voice-coil burn-out!

Looks like issue with the HDMI board, its kind of common issue with Denon AVR's now. Take it to the authorized service center it should cost anywhere between 3500-4000.

Dont experiment too much. Take it to Pro FX service center or any other center you trust right away. A friend had a similar issue and had to replace the tweeters or his surrounds, along with repairing the receiver.

It stared off with a shorting kind of a noise from the right channel surround while changing sources, switching on/off, etc.

Gave it to HiTech Point for service, they said seems like a major issue with some Digital board. They will confirm on Saturday, fingers crossed.

HiTech Point guys could not fix it and inturn asked me to take it to Denon service by PRO FX. The set is with PRO FX as of now, they say that mostly will be worn out Transistors and not HDMI board, as per them HDMI board will cost around 15-17K.

Hope for the best...
