Digital Photo Frame

i am looking for a reasonably good digital photo frame under Rs.4000 and size 7" and above... i have two models in mind

1. Sony DPF-A710 (Rs. 3990)
2. Philips SPF1237/12 (Newly Launched - Price not mentioned)

Please let me know is there any other good models apart from this. I am more inclined towards Philips/Sony/Kodak

Before buying any DPF kindly check the aspect ratio of the it. Most of the time we shoot in 4:3 ratio or 3:2(If shooting in DSLRs).

Both the shortlisted candidates have a aspect ratio of 16:10. So, the pic taken in any other aspect ratio will get stretched and ruined the viewing experience. If you shoot in 16:9 ratio then there is no problem.

Also the 7" will look very small, try get something bigger than 7 inches. But then you will have to increase your budget.

Sony ones are excellent but u wont find dem for 4k... Look for Transcend... 7 inches,,, its hd be around 3.5k

From my experience, i suggest you consider DPF for viewing pics ONLY. I was crazy about that 3 yrs ago and while purchasing i took philips 7" with audio/video , timer and some crab...

But after purchasing i realized those features are useless. For same cost (140$) i could have bought 9" DPF (only for pics)

If you want to see pictures, then forget this. The images are distorted frequently. Due to size and resolution variations, the clarity gets lost. The display is never calibrated and user also can't calibrate it. The color space is usually limited to sRGB and that too sometimes fails to show true colors within sRGB.

If you want to show your pictures, get them printed and use a conventional photo frame.

(Just calculate the amount of lifetime memories you can get printed for 4000.)

even though what shivam tells is correct but now even normal photo printing has become costly so you can use some software program like microsoft picture manager or paint and resize the pictures to the required pixels, dimensions. and then display on the photo frame you can display slide show also.

I think this tech is quite old now and in same budget you can gift a TAB which can do many many things apart from slideshows.

Any particular reason for just a frame?

Alright. Searched on ebay.in and found many options. Can't provide reviews though. But any brand with warranty should be good. Look for your requirements.
