recently i built a pair of stands for a couple friends

i realized they can be DIY'ed pretty easily

here's how i did mine

what you need

Solid wood - 1 inch thick
a couple selftapping screws
12mm black glass 5.5inch by 5.5inch
Some sand paper
Polish

Process
Cut out the wood using a router or jig saw - or hell, just get it cut from where you buy it!

6*6 inch - 1pc
5.5 * 10 inch - 1pc

use a file and cut out the notch in the centre of the longer piece on the top side leaving 6mm either side
the notch makes sure the headphones dont slip off

centre the taller piece on the sqaure base using the self tapping screws

sand of for a smooth finish

get the stand polished natural and use melamine if possible

Stick the glass to the base
The glass helps keeping the CG down and making the base heavy so the stand doesnt topple while using

Youre DONE!

here are some others one can try

Very nice. Elegance in simplicity :)

I'm not much of a woodworker, but probably a chisel should be used to cut the notch, and self-tapping screws are for sheet-metal work, ordinary wood screws are for wood.

Wow! Laminated moulding!
can be done
Impressive! But isn't a disproportionate amount of work to set up the jig/moulds unless sufficient numbers are being made?

(I recently watched a YouTube video about how Steinway Grand Pianos are built. The case is made in exactly the same way)

I'm really impressed too!:)
Approximation will do- I guess you can figure out the size based on the headphones which are kept on them..
Although a word of caution (not a reflection on your quality, which is usually great), but I've seen some Chinese copies which have very rough edges on the bottom where you have to cut the molding off.

OK the seive king copy is in production

will be done in black plexi - high gloss (similar to pic below but in black )

if there are more than 5 members who confirm
