DIY: Pass F5 turbo v2 initiated

Omishraji, oopsy you have made it official!!

We were talking on phone the other day when he was mentioning about the problem of importing so much stuff when I offered to utilise my consultant who keeps importing electronic stuff from abroad and even has an IE code. But I'm not sure if he would be able to import from individual/ He generally imports from reputed suppliers like parts express, Element 14 etc.

No problem Sir jee, we will make it happen by some or other way.

Hi,

After CNC and OPS the DIY bug has bitten me hard.

Sorry for entering late,

Please include my name for the GB for a Stereo Ver., under the 3 categories mentioned above.

After going through the thread what I understood is I need to transfer 1500/-(3000/-)immediately to Sachin for the Set of PCB's.

Anyone, please confirm my understanding or alternatively suggest.

Regards,

Vipin

Can anyone guide me as to what is the difference between cheap Aluminium Electrolytic capacitors that is available in India [keltron, Punsumi] and the and Expensive Imported one like Nichicon and others

The query is from the perspective of proposed Power supply.

One point I can understand that the value may not be accurate i.e. 4700 mfd may be actually 4200 mfd only. But this is not a consern when we are planning for 80,000 mfd or 1,00,000 mfd.

An Electrolytic is generally specified for;

1. Value
2. Max Voltage
3. Operating Temp.
4. lekage Current
5. Life
6. Load Line (hours) ?????-what is this ?

Hope this is not out of context query.

Vipin

Can't give you the technical details but can give you some practical knowledge

--Built a F5. Put in Chinese caps called Jicon 8x10000uF /channel rated at 105C.
Result weak bass,small soundstage

---Replaced caps with Panasonic TSHA 8x10000uF 105C.
Result no complaints any more :-).

In most amps & specially Class A the power supply plays a very important role

If you want to cut corners :-) get Samwha or perhaps Keltron (they used to manufacture for Sprauge once)

@kroyin: Didn't you get any Nippon Chemicon? I got it locally and company also mentioned they have distributor here in Pune. So chances of fake will be less.

No Om...I didn't get KMH locally (this was a couple of months back).
Its actually a shame, shops display Panasonic, CDE etc etc (10 yrs old)..
Now a days no demand no stock

So got them (16x10000uF 50V TSHA) from Twisted Pear Audio (76$ shipped)

omishra,

Aluminium heatsink, Heat sink in bangalore, Heatsink stockist, Heatsink dealer, Heatsink supplier, Aluminium LED Heatsinks, Aluminium Reflector Sheets, Aluminium Caul board Sheet 2.5mm, Aluminium Plywood sheets, Aluminium Alloy Rods, plates in 2014, 7

N23 I like it very much. I can use 5 or 6 in height make 4 pieces. Then I can have cabinet of 175 +175mm deep. Which is roughly 14 to 15 inches long.

Any issues with this approach for the current pcb boards we are planning.

Let me know

Thanks
Pandu

N34 costs Rs 2100 per 2 feet length. This 2 ft lenght can be broken into 4 pieces of 6 inches each placing two on each side of the amp. That way we can get the amp flat.

I am kind of uncomfortable having the amp vertical.

Thanks

That N34 has fins around thick bases, so you may need 8-10mm of Aluminum plate attached to it as heat spreader. Because MOSFETs should not land of thin area of heatsink.
