I own a Sammy 55" LED TV fitted to a wall and it's difficult to remove the TV of the wall, connect USB and replace the TV again. To save this effort, planning to use a USB HUB with a meter length cable. So anyone have any idea whether USB hubs works on LCD/LED TVs.

TIA

i doubt that a usb hub will work as usb hub works on basis of generic and auto loading driver on windows or other OS.

however the tv might not be able to do the same.

i would suggest get a usb cable of one metre length ( extension ) and then use the stick.

You are completely mistaken on the underlying technology! There are no "drivers" required for USB HUBS. They are PASSIVE devices used to extend the Daisy chain of a USB port which can grow beyond 100 devices! This is precisely as per design and even an active USB HUB follows the same specification with an exception of providing auxiliary power to the connected devices.

I have tested multiple memory cards simultaneously connected (through card readers) with multiple partitions and my phone with 2 memory cards without an issue. I don't have a USB hub (never needed it), however I am almost certain, they will work without an issue. Max, power requirements may exceed what is supplied by the TV's USB port and we could cover for it by connecting a USB cable to one of the active ports of another device (like we do for a portable USB HDD).

Active USB hub is highly recommended if you plan to connect multiple Hard Drives. Alternatively, axillary power can be taken from other active USB ports from the TV or any other devices (as indicated above).

multiple card will definitely work in a card reader when connected to a pc .. and yes its a hardware but to load every card there is a whole lot of software needed that detects diffrent kind of cards..

winxp started generic drivers for usb .. previous to that usb drivers werent preloaded.

also in the pc the amount of usb devices it can support at a moments also depends on the amount of power the mobo has..

similarly the tv might be able to support just one device at a time and connecting a hub to use multiple devices at a time might make it lean in power to properly power any device...

just my guess... haven't tried it..

i will go home and try today..
