Finally purchased Marantz PM6004...chase for speakers begins

Can get good deals in SG and requires good bargaining. My uncle who stays in SG has long history with couple of shops, so he gets very good discounts. If you buy more stuff in a shop, u can easily get 15% off on each which was the case for my amp and other av stuff. The catch is u wud be easily caught by the customs with all such heavy equipments but again u can bargain for all the stuff with customs with out flat 20-30% customs duty :D

Hi Kish,

Are you planning to buy your speakers too in S'ore or getting 'em in Hyd itself? I think its time for me to upgrade my speakers too. Are you planning on any auditions?

Cheers!!

I will buy here in Hyd, been auditioning for a while and shortlisted few. Which speakers u currently own ?

@OP

Don't skip Paradigm Monitor 9's while auditioning. Excellent speakers, they may have the 'love at first sound' effect on you! :ohyeah:

How much did you get it for? Does it have international warranty

Also where in SIngapore. Am planning to visit Singapore..

Hi Where did you get this in Singapore? Am planning to visit soon. Also what about warranty.

Marantz PM6004 + B&W 684

What do you think about pairing pm 6004 with B&W 684?
I need a big sound on bass freq. and not aggressive highs, thanks!

Marantz PM6004 + B&W 684

Yes is ok with mine, but I have tested the 6004 with B&W 684 and I had good impressions of enfolding bass and soft mid-highs, at low volume levels too and now
I'm wondering to swap to these beautiful floorstanding :licklips:
" Won't drive." Anyway I prefer and use not loud levels.

Checkout again. They dont even drive the 685s.
If you are fixed on 684 and are ok with 2nd hand, I can give you pointers for a mint one for 60k. PM me.

As Blasto correctly said... the 6004 is not adequate enough for the 685. So the 684 would be out of the question. They would definitely need a lot more power.
Again more watts does not necessarily mean louder.
Infact higher wattage amps will you give you better control at lower volumes

 OP stays in florence, Italy so pointers for getting him one locally for 60k(Rupees) won't be applicable :p

I heard the 683's paired to a Marantz PM 7004 & Pearli KI Lite recently. Both had no issues driving them comfortably & both had good grip on the speakers. So take your time to demo the 684's with other amps as well & then take a call.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
