Ordered up a TA2022 board and a marantz based tone control from aliexpress during their anniversary sale. shipped thru aramex and reached in 12 days. while looking for a suitable enclosure found that they are too big and too costly. so decided to do a diy chassis from some aluminum lying around from a window installation. Used some L angles, channels and aluminum floor board. thought of scavenging the heatsink from a old pcb lying around but could not fit.

The side panels

Chassis plate and front/rear plates cut from aluminum floor board

wood inserts cut from a 250 year old Teak floor board which has become as hard as ebony. Polished with Oliveoil+vinegar :p

The back panel aluminum and arcylic. speaker out and 4 way input selector

All set up. Toroidal transformer outputting 22-0-22 for amp, 12-0-12 for tone control and 0-12 for the source selector. the multicolored wires also scavenged from a relatively new crosair smps that had gone kaput :D

The front panel. knobs for the pot online.

Covered the top with acrylic and used steel washers as spacers to give around 5mm space all around on top for ventilation.

Could not remove the pots from the tone control. seems to be glued on. did not force it in fear of damaging the board. so stuck with the puny pots. even the knobs does not fit properly on them

Working perfectly. no hum/buzz. dead silent even with volume at full with no source connected. Sounds good. the TA2022 seems to be a good match for my recent diy speaker build. Bass is tight, good treble and stereo. Let it run continuously for 2 hours and the heat sink/other components are barely warm.

Can any one please guide me on how to remove the Pots... want to replace them so that i can get a better finish on the front panel.
thankyou

Nice job!

Strange is your transformer mounting method... rubber gasket above and clamping plate below...
or there is no washer plate

The rubber gasket that came with the transformer was quite thin. so cut a thicker piece of rubber for the bottom and used the thin one on top. there was no separate washer plate. fixed with nut bolt and washer to the chassis and the thick rubber for better insulation/vibration dampening. the transformer core itself had a tick pvc tube for the bolt.

Great work!!
where did you buy the toro transformers?

Built by toro trans pune. purchased thru eight audio.

Nice build.Congrats.
Just check if there is any small hidden screw for volume pot.

thanks. just checked. could not find any.

Thanks everyone.
