Hi Guys!

I want to order some records and have it delivered to my mother who is visiting relatives in Patel Nagar, Delhi.

What is the turnaround time for records ordered through Flipkart? I was planning on doing cash on delivery.

She is returning on the 11th of November.

Thanks folks.

From my experience:
40% of the orders got delivered within 24 hours (when ordered in the morning)
Another 40% of them got delivered within 48 hours
Rest took less than 72 hours

edit: sorry, no records- it was general TAT

Bought quite a few records from Flipkart. The ones with status as 'available' & 'In stock' are normally delivered within 3-4 days. Those like 'imported edition' take longer. My average waits are around 3-4 days. The most I waited for a record was for 11 days when I ordered an 'imported edition' Nirvana Unplugged vinyl. Hence, take a call accordingly. All vinyl orders have been on C-o-D for me. I prefer C-o-D until its a gift for someone.:D

Edit: Since, the delivery address is Delhi, it should be serviced much quicker I guess. Most products are acquired/ sorted in Mumbai & transported to Delhi. For my place, it takes additional time from Delhi which will not be a case with you. Though remember, this is applicable only for products with 'in stock' or 'available' status.

Regards,
Saket

Each item has an estimated delivery date for it. Generally and speaking from my experience, I have always received items before the estimated delivery period.

However, sometimes, the estimated delivery period is 10-14 days from the date of order.

Almost all the vinyls that I have ordered from Flipkart have taken anything between 10/11 to 31/32 days (if i remember correctly, i received a particular LP after almost a month). Generally they take around 3 weeks. All of them have been imported editions; hence so much time. However, as long as they don't cancel the order I have no problem (I've got more than a dozen LPs cancelled). Of late they've been cancelling orders right after a day of placing the order. Earlier they used to make me wait for 20 days and then cancel!

All said and done, considering all the problems with Flipkart, i still am very grateful to them for making such absolutely rare albums (vinyl and CD) available (and for very reasonable prices). This is the only place in India that has such a vast collection of music (new releases) for sale (I'd love to see someone prove me wrong here, but i doubt that'll happen anytime soon). I respect them a lot for that. I'm sure their service will improve with time. Like i said..as long as they manage to procure the vinyl, no matter how much time they take for it, I'll be more than happy. Plus the packaging is great. Only twice i received an LP with a seam split on the inner sleeve. Apart from that, the vinyls have arrived in perfect condition.

Flipkart has been weird for me recently. Parcels have been taking a few weeks and many times my order gets cancelled. In fact while typing this I got an email saying one of the Boards of Canada reissues I ordered was unavailable, when I know in fact it is available at many retailers.

If flipkart fixed these issues along with some of the other problems they would be th best for buying records online especially with the dodgy Indian post. As it stands there is still no stress free way so it's always hit and hope

I got my Corsair PSU delivery in 3 days flat, which is including Saturday and Sunday. That is pretty fast considering I live in Kerala. You can even speak to them, to see where your delivery is.

Their tracking is pretty neat too. So I guess you should not have any problems.

Wow, I just got an email notification that all 11 items have been shipped and are on their way to Delhi. Delivery date is by Nov 6th, which is a day before they quoted on the website.

Not bad at all! I ordered last night, pretty late, and I get up in the morning to this email notification sitting in my inbox.

It's like have an Amazon.com in India.

Flipcart service is really good and fast. Recently I got 5 vinyls through Flipcart with in 3 days. I got Dil to paagal hai vinyl within just 48 hours (3 days earlier than they quoted).

Yep they are the only folks in the online retailing business that seems to care about fast shipping and delivery. So far after 50+ purchases, I've never been disappointed by them.

All my last 3 orders (mostly LPs) got delivered in less than 3 days even though I ordered late in the night. I think if the product is in stock the delivery times are less than 3 days on 99% of the orders if the retailer is WS Retail.

Is it just me or has FK become much more expensive of late? Exchange rate notwithstanding, before it would be comparable to US/EU sites even with the high currency, but now it's almost Rs 2k or more, more expensive than the foreign counterpart. The only bonus is the good packaging and delivery of FK, but from a price point it is no longer competitive IMO. Also, at least 6/10 titles I order I get an email after 2 weeks saying it is no longer available and they give some small amount to my Fliplkart wallet. It's quite frustrating when the title is readily available on foreign sites but then not available on FK.

Anyone else facing similar issues or is FK being good to you nowadays?

For example, I recently ordered the new Neil Young at Cellar Door vinyl from Amazon UK for GBP 19.41 incl shipping which comes to about Rs 2000, whereas on FK same title is selling for Rs 3380, so it is more than Rs 1300 more expensive.
