Gaming console

Do recommend a gaming console. (budget less than 1000).
(Sorry - iam new to gaming. So no information on this area.)

For whom: Senior Citizen (later to add games for children too)
Will be connecting to 14" TV.
Not looking of any hifi sound effects, because will be using it with the TV.

The gaming console should be easy to operate for a senior citizen (well, children are anyway intelligent to adapt to technologies now-a-days!!)

Games that are recommended for senior citizen. What comes with the product? What can be downloaded/ brought? Source to procure it from?

Anything available in chennai, bangalore or through online?

I am afraid to say you wont have many options at that price range.

I have one mitashi one with a casette video game. its easy to operate. You can get the casettes for different games from national market, bangalore.

should spare atleat 5K .. PS2 should be fine than cheap chinese consoles

Well if not console, what would be a recommended game(s) for a senior citizen. Iam ok even to second-hand stuff (in good condition though!!)
Well iam not sure, if i can keep purchasing cassettes often! May be any other alternative for a freshman startup in games!! (particularly for senior citizen. As of now - the senior citizen usually plays those computer games - like minesweeper, cards to name a few)
Yes, the budget is less. But would like to start with and then later on move to higher budget (probably a PS3 - couple of yrs from now!!). The current setup will be to connect to 14" TV. Not looking beyond that - at this point of time.
Do point out the brands and/or sources.

I have One mitashi TV video game in working condition. We are not using it. If you need i can give that for you. I will give that for free. I stay in bangalore, hence the offer
