Getting a guitar from the US

Hi all,

As the title implies, I am thinking of asking a friend to get a guitar for me from the United States. He will be bringing it along with him. It is an electric guitar; an Ibanez JEM.
Will customs duties be levied? If so, does anyone know the amount of duties which are charged on musical instruments?

I don't think they'll charge any duty if your friend says that it's his guitar. Just ask him to remove any plastic covers and tags.
