yamaha wud be your best bet in that bracket..
searching for good receiver around 20-22k or a receiver+speaker for around 25-28k.
Stereo
Marantz 5003 20k
5.1
Harman Kardon AVR134 for sub 20k from indiajbl.com
Stereo
Harman Kardon/Marantz>Denon>Yamaha at the same price point
You asked for a receiver around 20k. What I have advised is more like 18-20k.
For sub 30k, you can't buy a receiver plus speakers.
In that budget:
1. Choose btw Onkyo and Philips
2. Buy a 2.0
3. Get Harman Kardon + JBL RECOMMENDED CHOICE FOR MOVIES
Harman Kardon AVR 134 + JBL SCS 200 will cost around 28-30k
1. Choose btw Onkyo and Philips
I though I will go for a good receiver around 20k and can get an average 5.1 system in 7-8k and upgrade for good 5.1 system later.
My main purpose would be music. I don't think I will be watching more than 2-3 movies in a month.
(I am a software developer, don't get much time for movie except sunday n on sunday I prefer theater. But I need music whole day, sometimes loud, sometimes mild)
If your requirement is predominantly music, then why would you want to but an average quality 5.1 and upgrade later. You are wasting money IMO. I suggest you buy two front speakers for that money and buy the rest of the setup when you can afford them.
So do u suggest good receiver+good stereo speaker (like wf 9.1 diamond) or just a good amplifier n such speaker?
Hi mihirdAs i won't be watching 5.1 movies a lot, that would be dead investment.
Regarding receiver, i think i should go with a good receiver rather than stereo so in future i just have to upgrade speakers.
Hi mihird
Going by your post that I highlighted in red which appear to be contradictory, I guess you are in a confused state right now.
If you are predominantly into music, 5.1 is not for you. I do not know your exposure levels with regard to good gear, both Stereo & HT. You must go for a few auditions to know what these two are all about.
Regarding the query whether to go for Receiver or Amp, I guess the post
would be useful to you: http://www.hifivision.com/surround-...9-amps-avrs-vs-dedicated-amps.html#post178028
I suggest you to through the entire thread.
