Google Nexus 7

I would say wait for a month and go for the 3G one, it would be a much more useful with web on the go, rather than a home use only tablet without 3G.
Buy it on the first day of travel, or better order one earlier so that it arrives/will have arrived by the time you land up in USA, then you will not miss it during your travels :)
And 32 GB storage also makes a difference, since there is no micro SD expansion slot.

That sounds like a better proposition, although I'm a bit disappointed at the sorely missing microHDMI option!

And BTW, I'm off on a wedding cum vacation trip to the north of India. My international travails have reduced considerably over the years :)

I have Google Nexus 10 and I must say the screen is gorgeous. Threw my iPad2 away when I got the device. 2560x1600 resolution in 10.1" screen is beautiful. The Tab itself is pretty good for reading and music. It has mHDMI and to my surprise, it drives my full HD 47" TV just fine. :D

Have a query: is the nexus tab better than the galaxy tab? AM WANT ING TO GO FOR ONE, BUT TORN BETWEEN THE TWO, ALSO, WAITING FOR THE NEXUS 10 TO LAUNCH.

Different Segments IMHO. Advantages of Galaxy Tab:
  • The Galaxy tab (P3100) has a calling function add-in which for most, is a great addition.
  • The Touchwiz is useful in hand, and a great addition.
  • External Memory Card.
  • Two Cameras, for better support.
  • Better Sound Quality and Kies Support.

The Nexus 7 on the other hand has the following advantages:
  • Designed by Google, Specifically Designed for Android.
  • Lightweight, Micro-USB Support, and a great Tegra-3(Ooomph)
  • Thinner, Lighter and Less Bloatware.
  • Higher screen resolution, but does not have removable storage.

I believe, you should go for the GTab-2 in case you want calling as an add-on, and removable memory or go for the Nexus 7 in case you want constant future support, and a faster non-bloated tab.

Now there is one Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 WiFi only (P3110) is also available at @12.8k or so.

I think it is a better option because of one year official warranty.

Or you could get one of those pocket routers to use with the Wifi model, so that you will have 3G to fall back on when you are out and travelling.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
