frnds, yesterday i got the delivery of my samsung 40c650, but opened it only to find that the panel version is CN??. i was so disappointed, later i called up samsung, they said they will get it replaced only i have to contact the dealer first, my query is the cn?? version really crap? if yes, than what version of "s" series shall i ask for ?

Thanx

Do they change the TV now after delivery? Let me know the update. I too have CN panel but am not aware of this panel type at the time of purchase..

Anybody help me to locate the panel number.. where it will be printed on Samsung LA40C550.. I have heard that SPVA panels are better..

look on the left or right side edges of your tv, there will be a sticker, look for version, there you will find the type of your panel, like mine is written CN01

so in this case, whether it is possible to contact samsung and get exchanged for SS/SQ version... they will agree?? since the panel number will be visible only after the box is open

^^ I dont think so. Unless you convince samsung that you have some other problem with the TV, get a replacement and hope for it to be SS/SQ.

More info on the panel lottery.

SS or SQ - S-PVA from Samsung
?? - A-MVA from AUO
CN - S-MVA from CMO

PQ wise, S-PVA>A-MVA>S-MVA

I hate Samsung... They are conning customers without disclosing the panel number as a measure of cost reduction. Infact most of the customers are not aware of this (Like me, after joining this forum i came to know, which was too late)

I heard that all the Panels of Sony are SPVA, is that true?

hey, frnds, just had a word with the samsung people, they said that they are sending people to there warehouse to search for sq panel TVs and later they will replace, but what if they just change the sticker, my point is can i check it after switching on the tv with the help of the screen interface ???????????? experts please put your advise

True for most of them.

EX300/EX400/EX500 - SPVA panels from Samsung except the 37 inchers which uses the AMVA panel from AUO.
EX710 - ASV panels from Sharp except one model which uses a SPVA panel.
HX700/HX800 - SPVA panels.
NX800 - ASV panel.

NX800 - ASV panel.

Sony /Sharp 10g facility in japan only produces UV2A panel not the old ASV tech.

EX710 40" and 55" use SPVA panels while the 32",46" versions use AMVA.

The difference here is that all Sony lcd tvs of a the particular series and size get only one panel, where as samsung its basically a lottery.

I doubt samsung will replace the lcd panel to a SPVA(SQxx) just because one gets a panel with SMVA(CNxx) or AMVA(AAxx)
