Before I start, I am no audiophile and I never hinted anywhere to push the budget to unaffordable levels. Most HTIB's are built to a price. You get a decent receiver and so called full range speakers that are so cheap, they are probably no better than Rs. 1000 computer speaker system.
I am looking for a HTIB, something that has quality to it. I am looking for opinions on the Pioneer RS32. If its not good, I am not going to buy it. The Onkyo 3400/3500 is the worst HTIB I have come across. Heck, a cheap Philips HTIB had better sound quality than the 3400.
The Onkyo 3400/3500 are not what I would call value for money HTIB's. Like I mentioned in a previous post, the receiver is alright. It is the supplied speakers that are the culprit and Onkyo make the worst speakers ever. I have never heard a more disconnected system and the sub woofer unit at a point of the audition started dancing on the floor.
No I am not. That is the INR pricing for the receiver alone.
Neither am I. I do not recall marketing any brand here.
I am here for the same thing mate and I do have a recommendation. It costs twice over the Onkyo, Pioneer and Yamaha HTIB listed here and is totally worth it. I say wait a little longer, save up more dough, buy something that sounds really good and still won't cost the earth. It is a combination of the Yamaha RX-V373 and Space Audio SM-10X. One listen to this combination is enough to tell you how horrible the supplied speakers are from Onkyo.
Just for everyone's knowledge, the speaker system supplied with the Yamaha YHT-196, 296 and 298 are valued at Rs. 5000. Should be an easy guess to tell what sound one can expect from a sub sat system priced in this range.
I don't have anything to recommend in this price range and I still advise folk to stay away from cheap HTIB's.
