Hey there ppl....

It's me again after more than 2 years....

Reason.... I lost my password and used to visit forum as anonymous. .. but now using tapatalk....

I've been out of touch for a long enough time happily content with my Paradigm Monitor 7 V6s+Onkyo amplifier+Onkyo BDP. .. or should I say was content. ...

Now ...Yeah Dil Mange More. ... I am planning for a very basic HTiB which I will use for watching movie and television through TataSKY HD or my Onkyo BDP. ... its 100pc use will be for movie as I already have a dedicated music setup.

I was looking to something like Onkyo 3400 and like....

Pl suggest.... budget is 30k max as I rarely get time to watch a full movie but when I do on BDP or HD DTH, miss the 5.1 sound field....

Another important and critical parameter for me is performance at low to moderate volumes as well.... I go upto 45pc while listening music but need to turn it down at night

Wc back buddy.... Onkyo 3400 is good, but it has passive subwoofer output.... Yamaha YHT 299 is better in this regard as it offers active subwoofer but slightly expensive by 6K more.....

+1 to Yamaha YHT-299.

It's a nice sounding little HTIB kit and sounds good at low to moderate volumen levels. Head to a nearby Reliance digital/Croma and check it out if you like the way it sounds.

Around 35-37K...depends upon your locality...reliance digital has it for 37k with free Blu Ray Player...

if you don't care about the bluray player much then you can work around 34-35k with local dealers easily

As far as the shops... I would say go for any other dealer, rather than reliance digital...u can definitely bargain n u will get it for 2k to 3k less...:clapping:

According to you, what's the reason for a price difference of 6k between Yamaha and Onkyo. Is it only the active sub over the passive one?

Onkyo has got passive where as yamaha has active sub. Yamaha also has 4k pass and some other features. Best thing is that yamaha avr is a variant of rx v375 and future proof.

Unfortunately you got only two options for your budget. If you can extend your budget to 50k you can get a combo of pioneer vsx 323 and wharfedalde movie star 65 or BA xs 5.1

What about Denon HTiB based on 1300 avr. .. that used to be sold at 5k higher than then Onkyo 3400
