why dont u PM Bizarre and check the performance of the PM5003 with the C405 ? He has the same system in Mumbai.

I had a Yamaha AX series-100wpc (i/m forgetting the model),but it could not drive my Bose 901's.I then purchased a HK 670(75wpc),which is a high current amp.This one drives the 901's like hell.It is not the wattage what is important here,but the current ratings.Please audition the amp alongwith the speakers which you are using,and do not go just for specs.Otherwise you might repent.

It was always Yamaha integrated whenever i had a chance of listening to bose 901 in Bose store. Looks strange how they manage to sell Bose with AX.

Bobby, Once I asked the sales person in Bose Store why his system was not that good as I expected...His answer was " Sir the amp may not be that good, the Bose speaker produced what the amplifier wants to"

I read the above thread and apparently 'bizzare' was running his C405 speakers with PM5003 (!!!). I thought this is impossible because it has same wattage rating as my C320. This raised doubts in my mind and so I did the below..
I connect my NAD C320 to my older bookshelves which it was driving like a champion tonight and guess what??
The SAME BAD SOUND WITHOUT ANY SOUNDSTAGE which I heard in the C405 comes from the bookshelf too!!! Inflated bass and absolutely no instrument seperation, soundstage even in the my custom bookshelf.. I am heart broken..
The amp should have gone bad on transit to the showroom..
If you read my earlier post (@ http://www.hifivision.com/speakers/5124-c405-vs-wh-9-5-a-2.html#post272636 ), I have mentioned that I could not believe the sound produced by my C320 through the C405 speakers even sounded like my amp. That was an acute observation. The problem is, it is not sounding like my amp anymore in my bookshelf also.
So, all my observations and comparisons stand VOID. Don't buy the sherwood amp based on my comparisons.
In one word if I have to describe, it sounds like 'mono'. :'(
Any comments on why this could happen and what should I do? Any help appreciated.

I will go for the PM5004 audition again and check out.
I auditioned the rest of the stuff in cinebells who have the best setup in town.
The Yamahs MX-497 and PM5004 are auditioned in a place named SBT-corporation which is literally a car shed. Even here the PM5004 was better than the yamaha by a margin. I did not find the soundstage proper though. The speakers were also 2-3 ft apart.
Bizzare's thread opened up a whole lot of possibilities of amps.
Infact I have commited to sell my beloved C320 to someone.

damn I just bought 9 sherwood for my 7.2 
Here is some (possibly) good news.
One of the pre-out to main-in pin (the bottom one) was loose. Possibly disturbed during transit..
Ideally, there shouldn't be any sound from one of the speakers if this is the case. But somehow both speakers were fed with the same signal (constituting to mono). I pressed them inside and listen to the bookshelf and they 'sing'.. hyeah: hyeah:
Tested only in low vol as it is like 1am now and wifey and kid are sleeping.. Tomo, will connect them to the jamos and post observations here..
They look like normal RCA outs, can a normal RCA cable be instead of these thin pins??
P.S: Foto is from the net, I just made markings..

I think those things are called jumpers. If you use RCA Cables instead of those jumpers(if thats possible), wont it add to cable clutter?
By the way I am glad to know that someone (Bizzare)is happy with pm 5003 driving jamo c405. i thought you also tried it but were not happy with the result.

so what's the plan now? getting new amp or not? Getting new speakers or not?
They are regular RCA sockets. You can use RCA cables instead of the jumpers. In fact, I've read that swapping the jumpers for a good cable will make the amp sound better. This was also mentioned in an Audio Advisor video (for the C326BEE) by a NAD representative.
I've not done this swap in my 326 yet: Couldn't find short patch cables of good quality. (Well, to be quite frank I didn't try hard enough heh, heh).

Do you mean speaker cables with bear ends? I dont think that can be done. Since it is RCA Female socket, you need RCA Male pin only.
