Home Theater below 20K

Hi All,

This is my 1st thread here. Tried to see recommendations of HT in forum but all sets were our above my budget. My requirements are for mostly DTH purpose - Mostly Sports and movies. Pls suggest good home theater available in India under 20K, If i get blootooth / wireless enabled even better.

if you really want to get some serious HT gear, leave out consumer electronic brands like Sony, Samsung etc. and go with specialized hifi / HT brands. with such a low budget there is only one system I can recommend : ONKYO HT-S3500 for 25k (best value for money).

Once your budget goes higher there are other options.

The models / brands suggested by you are not actual Home Theatres...these are compact systems and are known as Home Theatre in a Box or HTiBs. These systems do not deliver the full experience of a proper home theatre and I have walked down that road almost 12 years back...

Entry level home theatres are with separate AVRs / speakers / DVD or Blu Ray players....you could look at Yamaha YHT 196 or YHT 199 or Onkyo HT-S3400 or HT-S3500.

Such systems are available on Amazon, Croma, Vijay Sales, Reliance Digital etc etc and you need to see who offers the best rate and make your purchase. Entry level Home Theatres start typically from 22k/30k and can go in lakhs...it all depends on how much output / features / connectivity / power / quality / performance you want and how much are you willing to spend....

Based on your budget, if it is tight, you may want to see the section on Sale by owner or visit online classified websites to see for good second hand Home Theatre systems which you can get for anything between 12k - 25k depending on brand / model / output / features etc...

Hey, Thanks all for detailed reply. Tried to find more HT in varanasi but here we have no croma reliance digital, hence couldn't find any of these Yamaha's, Onkyo's. Otherwise would have taken demo of these models.

Considering the above limitations and taking me as regular consumer (was using Creative 2.1 currently in my old tv :sad: ). Pls suggest if its worth to try these
HTib at lower price levels if you have reviewed these modeals Else if its total waste of money then i wil think of ordering Yamaha / Onkyo entry level ones from Snapdeals / Ebay but without demo i guess. Or will try to go to look in Lucknow / Kanpur in comings months.

It is much better to go to a place where you can listen and satisfy yourself before making a purchase.
