Home Theater for budget ~25k

Well I didnt post my Living Room Size , It is 12ft X 24ft (Including Dining area), but effectively I want to utilize only 12 X 18 ft for the HT system .

And I wont be using DVD player , any movies if so will be played through TV USB port ...

Every Separate receiver + Speaker combo I checked is going out of my budget , So what If I get 3300 now and add better Speakers later ? Will 3300's receiver support Active Sub ?

Damn these taxes

Alright guys , Drama has been put to an end
I have booked Onkyo 3300 , getting it for 24k @ Vijay Sales (Baner) Pune .

I gave visit to eZone chinchwad , and thry had Onkyo 307 + HT 528(spk) combo for 30k on offer and HT528 (B) speakers were on sell separately for 16k .
they also had Jamo 406 for 16k !
& Denon 390 HTiB package for 28k ...

Onkyo HT528 for 16k are really tempting , but the receiver offered with it is so old ... I hope I'm not making a mistake by not buying thm !

Do they have that system for Demo?
Are they going to book it for you and provide that to you after some days?
Does 24k include installation and delivery to your home?

They dont hv it for demo , yes they hv booked it for 500rs and it should get delivered to my house in a day or two ... About installation they said onkyo guy will come to ur house and will setup the speakers according to ur room , but cabling n stuff Ill hv to do on my own ! Hope this helps

i dont really think they will tune it. when theycame at our place for the first time they dint even wal mount the speakers as i was not home they left.

i asked them to come again and only thing he did was to make holes and punch in some nails. lolz.

Well the eZone guy where i have auditioned the Jamo n Onkyo 307 told me that prices are gonna increase after Ganesh visarjan , and will be same for Diwali - Dussera . Dunno about Vijay Sales guys !
Since 3300 is on popular demand , its very unlikely .

A question for members who have bought HT systems in the past: Do you wait for the HT rep to come in a couple of days (and indicate best positions for the spkrs) or do you refer to a HT speaker setup diagram and DIY the setup yourself so that you can check out the sound asap?

I for would not be able to wait for a couple of days if all the HT rep is going to do is show ideal positions for the spkrs.

Yes, precisely so.
There is no rocket science involved neither in the speaker setup nor an HTIB setup. For a quick setup to start enjoying your HTIB in 5 mins there is even a quick setup chart that comes with the HTIB.

Just checked its status with Vijay sales today , it'll take more 3 days as Onkyo India isnt dispatching enough number of 3300s according to them ...

For those who have already received their 3300s. Can you please let me know how a 2.1 stereo source sounds on this system?

cabling will be included along with that thw wires are banded at both end so u can get the correct strand connected to both ends..

along with that instruction chart come sto set it up.. unless u need wall mounting.

also give it a listen to cpl of hrs and try diff modes and see what best suits you.. keep the speakers on ear level for best results and later callibrate it ..

crossover
decibel values to independant speakers according to the setup distance n usage.
