Hey Abhi,
Even I am in same boat as your's !!! I booked Onkyo -hts3300 on 19th sep in Modern world(Onkyo main dealer Bengaluru) and I was promised in 3-4 days.. and it still a promise.. yet to materialize.. I mean now they've given me 7th oct as delivery date.. this time they've given me 200% surity.. :lol:.. Keeping my fingers crossed If I indeed will get the delivery on this fourth revised promise date :sad:..

What a coincidence ! I have booked it on 19th Sep too ! Since it is not available with Onkyo Main dealer in your case , there is really a shortage :sad:

I was in MW, Bangalore yesterday and asked them about the arrival of new units. He told me that they are expecting on 07 Oct.

I am also planning to buy HTS3300 based on the feedback and its price range.
I have a question.
I have cable connection now and planning to upgrade to DTH in a month or so. Also Ihave Samsung TV with USB movie option which can play movies directly from TV and a PS3 for games.
For my requirement , does this HT suffice ??
I have 70% DTH viweing and 30% movies.
One question still remian unanswered . If I play the movie from TV directly, will I get 5.1 sound?? If not what additional equipment required to make it 5.1 channel.
I am asking this because TV can play all kinds of formats like .avi mkv mpeg 1,2,4 etc.. So I dont need to have a player

If your TV has SPDIF/coaxial output you can use that as a input to onkyo 3300 to get 5.1 sound...

Yes, my LED sammy has optical out ... So 5.1 over usb shouldn't be a problem !

I got my Onkyo-HTS3300 delivered today.. installation guy is cmng tom for installation.. am soo much excited now :yahoo::yahoo:... Sticker reads its manufactured in Malaysia on Sep-2010..

Onkyo Installation guy is supposed to come within 2-3 days , but I couldn't resist and set-up the system by myself !
Now the problem is I want to connect Optical Audio Out from my TV to Receiver , but by mistake I purchased TOSLINK to TOSLINK cable instead of TOSLINK to mini TOSLINK or 3.5mm TOSLINK Optical Audio cable (Since TV has 3.5mm jack for Audio Out ! ) And that TOSLINK to mini TOSLINK cable is nowhere available in Pune ... Can anyone help !
