yes, they are much acclaimed. check with avenue sound electronics, mumbai. pioneer too has a new HTS coming to india, PKS21FS, something like that. it has got a very good feedback abroad, and is cheap too. pioneer also has a few more models which are very good, but not sure if in your budget. avenue should help you get to know about all these.

P.S. - some members i think have the energy speakers. create a WTB thread to check. also, i know a person who wishes to sell his Edifier S750 system, another acclaimed set. check for reviews.

sorry, its S550. you can have the S550 new itself in your budget. can let you know where to get a new S750 from too. allow me some time for that.

Manohar, it would be much better if you could audition a jbl/pioneer/onkyo/denon system, as sound-liking of each is very subjective, and a few times i have read that some didn't find onkyo's sound likeable (describing it tinny, and not suitable for a little bit of music-listening), and drifted towards denon, etc., while many do find it quite worthy. so take a demo wherever possible (should be possible at reliance outlets, as well as at some A-V stores that pune has. check with some pune FMs), because a demo won't be possible with energy and edifier, and you will have to rely only upon word-of-mouth.

I finally bought Yamaha YHT-196 this Friday from Vijay Sales @22000/- with a pen drive free. Please let me know if Tono HT 55 Speaker Wall Mount Bracket fits with this.

DOnot go for consumer products like Sony\LG\Samsung. My music system Sony-DAVDZ270 (current price Rs 15000) died down because of a power surge and the service center informed me that the main board will need to be replaced Complaint No (015-969-283) Job no (J31724738). The center told me that the price of the board was Rs 19000..!!! Am not bothered about the fact that the board cannot be repaired.. it is only that how can a board of a system cost more than the entire system as a whole !!! I followed up for almost a month and gave up.. they donot have any explanation for this. Sony guys just understand sales and then take consumers on a ride. Now the problem is that their Dabba (5.1)speakers are 3 ohms ratings and are Sony proprietary. You cannot couple them to any other systems as all other systems are 8 ohm ones.
Requesting everyone who are planning to buy a music system or Home Audio system to stay away from Sony as far as possible! Go for Onkyo\Denon\Norge...!!
