Home Theatre below 25k - Group Buy

So Guptam and Jsanand are left.

... and I am turning green with jealousy :D (just kidding).

I am too Happy for you guys:clapping:. I thought we all will go together to pick it up, so that we all can meet and I can also thank Vasishta for making this happen.

For those who have already collected your sets celebrate :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo: and let us know the initial impressions

Ok, here are the initial impressions (photos in the evening as my room was a mess after installation).

Looks: My wife and I had a disagreement about the aesthetics of this HT. I thought the industrial design with clean cuts and black glossy finish is perfect. She thought it looks like it belongs to a retail store or office, and liked the more "woody" look of our previous 2-channel setup. The receiver does stand out a bit because of its size - it sort of dominates the other items in our living room which are tiny and slim. The center and front speakers are are definitely good looking and manageable in size, and we put the sub in a corner to draw attention away from it.

Installation: It was a breeze. Everything is colour-coded and it took 10 minutes to wire it up completely. Of course, this was a "kutcha" install - I am planning to wall mount the surround speakers and cut the speaker wires to the right length. HDMI connections (2 inputs and one output) were straightforward, and I could get the system working within minutes.

SQ: I tried very few options so far - a basic audio CD and a DVD. Overall VERY impressed with the sound quality even in basic stereo mode. The PLII surround processing worked very well for the DVD, less so for the audio CD which sounded a little artificial when enhanced with surround sound. Keep in mind that this is my first 5.1 channel system, so it may be my lack of appreciation for surround sound music. However the clarity of sound in the action sequences in the DVD blew my mind. I can't wait to try "true" 5 -channel sound from a Bluray disc. Also I was playing this late at night and had to keep the volume low. Will give it a proper spin on the weekend.

Overall, I am very glad I got this baby home. More updates to follow!

The stereo sound was definitely better - I had a 50W/ch Onkyo stereo before, and the sound is significantly sharper with this HT. Of course no question the your floorstanders will sound even better!

My concern after reading the forum was with the bass quality, but really this is such an improvement over my old setup that I haven't even noticed what could be improved.

I have only one HDMI cable at present with me right now. I have a playon HD that I will be connecting to the Avr. What should I do? Pohd to avr with HDMI. Or avr to TV with HDMI or wont. It make any difference at all?

This is urgent.

I got a phone call from the seller. He is insisting me to pick up the stuff ASAP. Since these sets are very much in demand, he told me that they won't stay for too long.
He offered me to either deposit the full payment to him and he can keep them aside or wait for 27th (thats when his next lot arrives).

GuptaM,
Do you want to wait till 27th or want to pick them up, while they are in stock ?

Jsanand,
Would it be possible to transfer money to the seller's account so that he can keep one for you aside ?

Guys, please update me and I need to update the seller.

I'll have to rush and pick my stuff tomorrow. Mr . Gupta, if you want to join in, do let me know.

Vasishta,

I am still on the trip and will be back 22nd night or 23rd evening. So if he is pushing you too much, I can opt for 27th (it should in no way harm the price point for me or any of the other members of the group buy). Alternatively, if the dealer is OK, I can transfer a token amount in his account tomorrow by directly going to a bank.

BTW, Congratulations on your PS3 :clapping:. I have PM-ed you my number so we can touchbase tomorrow.

@jsanand
This guys is insisting on complete payment. I've replied your PM. Please PM me back your email address. I'll be sending the account details in the email.

I don't know why I am not being able to send the account details via PM. My office firewall is telling me that I am sending some sensitive info and blocking this website.

@Tanveer
I can see only the first pic. The other ones are not visible, probably blocked by office firewall.
