If you are getting it for dirt cheap , go for it. Otherwise I wouldnt put my money on any Stock HU. Check out pioneer DEH-80PRS model.

:D

+1 to Kittu. Go for OEM HUs if you want seamless look in your cabin and nothing else. The DEH-80PRS that Kittu mentioned costs some 20K. It won't be a perfect fit to the dash. But, it would sound several times better. Same goes for the speakers as well.

+2 Stock HUs are highly avoidable. Get something with at least 2 sets of pre outs for future expansion.

Although many people dislike the stock speakers and HU in Honda city, I love the sound they produce. Recently i had to change the stock speakers from the doors and I am not statisfied by the 4.5k Polk audio speakers when compared to the 'ordinary' looking stock Clarion speakers.

@subabu: As per the showroom mechanics guys, the stock speakers are of 'Nippon' brand and cost about 2k for each speaker. They are 6.5 inch size

thank you cha indian..

Any speakers better than the house speakers. Thinking of changing the front speakers to 2-way or 3-way ones to increase treble. Any thoughts on whether I should do it or not. Also which speakers I should replace them with, if at all.

In the earlier versions of Honda city also, Honda used Alpine stereo systems.. so its very much possible that Honda installs the same company s music system , although the Alpine logo is not visible on the dashboard these days in the newer Honda City models.
