How to make a Silent PC ?

Yes, agreed with all that, manoj.

Jitter as a word, sounds good, and it sounds as if it expresses what the problem sounds like, which is probably largely a mistake. Buffer under/over runs and interrupt problems don't make subtle changes to the music, they ruin it! "Audiophiles" prefer to discuss the subtleties of angels dancing on the head of pins.

Well, that's ok ... and none of would belong to a forum like this if we did not come, to some extent, in that category! :D

But, as far as computer audio is concerned, there are certainly real problems to be addressed.

Thanks for the link. Seen before but forgotten. I'm trying to be more disciplined about organising my bookmarks!

guys i have a computer case from the year 2000. Recently the motherboard has burnt up and so i assembled a new computer in the old case. The power supply is Mercury and it is very very noisy. Can i just replace the power supply with something like a Cooler Master 500W SMPS ?? The reason i am asking this question is that the present case does not have any ventilation holes on the top roof, sides . I have seen that Cooler Master does not have fan on the back of the SMPS.. so if i install the big 12cm cooling should be facing downwards or ?

The modern SMPSes are designed so the fan is inside the cabinet, facing downwards (if the SMPS is installed on the top of the rear of the case). The part of the SMPS that is flush with the outside (rear) of the cabinet will be perforated (like a grille) so that hot air from inside can be expelled.

You will just need to make sure the SMPS can fit inside the case. That is, a full-ATX SMPS will need a full-ATX case.
