Hello all.

Can you please advise me as to how and where I can find a amplifier with dd5.1 that i can build into my HTPC.

I have been reseaching for over a year now and intend to build a complete HTPC with absolutely no aditional external boxes.

All I can find are discontinued hardware especially the maui MSI live 5.1.

Please advise,.. thanks.

In my advice, drop the idea. why? here's why
1) Amplifiers need a lot of current for driving speakers. that means it has to have a heavy duty power supply.
2) The more the current draw, the more will be the heat generated. In order to effectively cool the case, you will need to go for water cooling or a large amount of fans, making it loud.
3) High wattage amlifiers cannot be built for computers due to size, weight (weights of heat sinks for cooling the chips etc.
All in all, bad idea, better to have external amplifier. this is why the idea did not pick up. toms hardware has numerous posts how people have heat and random freezing problems with the MSI live Diva 5.1 that you are talking about.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
