Hi guys i am extremely confused between the above models of Sony HX750,850 Panasonic ET5,ST50 and Samsung E6200 which one to buy. My budget is 1 L and i want to have a 46" TV.
I have a huge collection of 720 AND 1080 p movies which i want to watch in my new HDTV. I was lookin a decent TV with 3D and Wifi. I have visited a lof of shops which have added more to my confusion.

My findings are,I thought of buying HX 750 but heard that its not so good for playing 3D and also sony tv's cant read data from hard disks. Price of HX 750 is 1L where as same in HX 850 is 1.3L. Both of them cant do media sharing.

Samsung ES 6200 has lot of features like All share from which we can play movies, songs, pictures from mobile/lappie. In demo i found its picture quality just ok. Price is 1L.

Panasonic ET5 is the new model i guess which has IPS Panel which enables a viewing angle of 178 degrees. But due to the IPS Panel picture is little dim compared to normal panel TV's. It has also similar features like All Share of Samsung. Also 3D is ok in this. Price is 1L for 47"

Panasonic ST50 is PLASMA and not an LED so it consumes a lot of power. But i heard a lot positives about it in this forums about picture clarity and sound. I dint see this model physically outside. Price for 42" is 90k and 50" is 1.1L

One more thing a found in LED tv's in volume problem. The volume of LED tv's is very low caompared to other ones except for Sony which has a decent volume.

So can any one here please suggest me which TV to buy.

You have some wrong information about Bravia. Bravia does have DLNA and you can easily share media from your phone/laptop. In fact FYI it was Sony who originally founded DLNA technology.

As for HDD, Bravia TVs do read HDDs provided they are formatted as FAT/exFAT file system. MKV playback is not directly supported but that can be overcome by using PS3 muxer software to remux mkv to m2ts which doesn't take more than 1 minute or so per GB.

All other formats do play except FLV and DivX

As for 3D performance, HX850 has near reference 3D quality and HX750 also has excellent 3D performance.

My recommendation would be get the HX850, it's one of the best LED sets not just currently but in history :) If not HX850, get HX750.

I am not recommending ST50 only because of some of the details you mentioned, it's otherwise an excellent TV on par or slightly superior for cinema than HX850

Hi Sagarsiva,

Just one correction on the price front of ST50 models.

For 42ST50, you can easily negotiate to 83k (in fact most of the shops quote the price at 85k). For 50ST50, I guess you cab get it near 1.0k. In fact I remember a guy telling in one of the forums about getting 50ST50 at 98k.

In case if you need to see between Plasma and LED, please visit the thread with the subject "Need help in choosing TV". I have given my suggestions in that post and see if that will be of help to you.

You mentioned in your review you found Panasonic IPS LED to be too dim, that is the reason I didn't recommend the ST50 to you as ST50 is 3-4 times less bright than the Panasonic LED that you found "dim".

Just making it clear why I recommended HX850/750 over ST50 to you.

For movie needs, st50 will be better. For standard needs out could be led or plasma. Plasma requires ambient light control and being careful with static images. Led offer brighter images with saturated colours as opposed to plasma's natural colours. Plasma offer deep blacks that only high end led's such as hx850 come close.

All high end smart tvs, be it plasma or led, support dlna and media streaming. But dlna requires high bandwidth and may stutter over wifi. I found this issue and had to switch to wired mode.

Finally, you should do a demo. But note that in brightly lit showrooms, plasmas will not come out flying. So do a plasma demo with someone you know.

I myself bought a 47 incher just yesterday after a lot of searching literally searched the whole city for the best TV despite having advice from all the experts here. All i can say is go to 3-4 showrooms with the models that you like bargain hard for best price, see the TV's side by side take one you like

Go with HX850 and if you need to know anything about playing back on Bravia check this post..http://www.hifivision.com/television/26438-how-play-mkv-file-sony-bravia-led-tv-guide.html

As mentioned by just4kix, If your room is not super bright with sunlight etc coming in - you can go for ST50 (50" should come around 98-100k). It has been ranked one of the top HDTVs in all rankings this year...

HX850 is a great model to consider as well for not just its PQ & features but also design... however it will cost you more so the decision is yours...

The above 2 are the best choices available from your list...

If you can manage the ambient light with thick drapes, etc........go for ST50, if not then HX850 is a great all rounder!!!

thanks for the suggestions guys...
i have a doubt whether pana ST50 has media sharing option through laptop and mobile?
and one more thing n one was responding regarding samsung TV's...
how about Samsung 7 series i.e. 46ES7500? Is it better or Sony HX 850, bcoz both are almost priced the same and ES7500 comes with voice and motion control. But i doubt whether these features will be really useful and can any one tell which of them has better picture clarity especially the much talked blacks....

^

There is simply no Samsung TV that matches HX850. Even ES8000 cannot match HX850. The only TV that is on the same level as HX850 overall is Panasonic ST50. And yes ST50 does have DLNA sharing, just like every other high end TV.

Hi,

HX850 is superior to Samy es7500 in PQ. Also i had a demo of Samy ES7500 few days back. The motion control and the voice control seems more of a "Marketing Gimmick" rather than a useful option.

Moreover its much easier to control or operat the TV thru remote rather than vioce or motion control.

Go for HX850......:) undoubtedly Superior to Samy 7 series and 8 series.
