Indian Vinyl Pressing - My thoughts

I recently started collecting LP's. I have seen this thread already and am a bit confused. The new vinyls are not as good sound quality as the good old days, as you guys are discussing in these preview threads. Is it only in India or also in western vinyls?

I am seeing remastered western albums on eBay. Is that digitally remastered? or mastered from original tapes? Should I consider buying those?

When I have read many articles online, what I understood is that digital recordings were started in the early 70's, so it's not about the digital to analogue. Maybe what we experienced today is the poor build LPs. Maybe I misunderstood this concept.

This is limited to Indian vinyl only. Bollywood oldies which are releasing these days are mostly from digital repository and makes no sense given the cost.

When it comes to buying remastered versions of old albums from the US or UK, most are generally remastered (this is a music industry method as artists, after a 'cool off' period from the date of original release, generally have control over the rights of their music if remastered, while the ownership of the original publishing remains with the catalog owner). It is very rare that analog remastering is done these days, so it is safe to believe that everything is done digitally.

It all depends on what you like listening to. Most old albums are being re-released as anniversary collectors' editions, essentially additional revenue streams for the artist. Some like me for example, find the remastered versions better than the originals. There are also re-released versions wherein the artist re-records the whole album and releases it. For example, I really enjoy listening to the version of Dark Side of The Moon (Pink Floyd) played in its entirety on the Pulse album, in comparison to the original version. Scorpions recently came out with an anniversary box set version of wind of change, sounded better than the original and one got to have a piece of the berlin wall (included in the box) as well

I have seen some websites online that we can upload MP3s from our computers and they will make custom LPs for us. So I think old bollyhood songs are coming this way.
