You can use this free App "Documents Free (Mobile Office Suite)" from iTunes. Once downloaded you can edit the document via this app and also save all your documents in this library.

There are many such free office apps on iTunes.

Get yourself an Apple TV3. But you still need a router as they all need to be connected to the same wifi bridge.

BTW, your Smart TV should have options to stream movies from other networked devices through wifi??

Yes, I am able to see photos/ videos fm my android htc phone on the said TV Using WIFI DIRECT Without a router.

For iPad having a router seems to be the only option , what about airplay!!!!!!!

My smart TV also had Miracast.

Also, I did download the documents app fm App Store,
However to re- attach a edited downloaded doc is impossible.
The only option being to sign in on my G-mail account thru the said App.
I really don't know whether to do it , from security point of view.
