Hello, whenever I click on the Youtube App it takes me to a web-page like screen stating "the page you requested cannot be found.' All the other apps like Sony Liv, Netflix ect. just open and run fine. I went to the network settings and refreshed internet content. And then when I click the Youtube App it seemed to have struggled a bit and then again that page is showing up. I watch lots of YouTube content on my TV. Guys please help. TV is around 3 years old.

Hello, this is fixed. After a much deeper thought I finally decided to perform a hard reset. The app is back and I do not know whether it is a placebo effect or not the TV seems better. This was the exact message it was displaying

I too faced issues yesterday with my Sony W77E where a page in white color having Google logo came up with some not found message.
I tried multiple times switch on off, refreshing content. Then I checked for update , got an update.Even after updating the error was coming.
Finally I did a factory reset and the issue got resolved. But it costed me to loose all my settings.
I believe this might be due to older version of Youtube .But Sony should seriously think about it because Youtube will be releasing updates as and when they need.At some point Youtube might stop supporting older versions stating technical and hardware limitations jargon. On the other hand Sony is not going to give us updates once a new version of the model is launched.I fear at that point what should be done. This model is an Internet TV with Sony's own OS

Hi, priya. Sad to let you know that factory reset only worked for two days. Today I again had to reset it to factory settings. This is frustrating. All the other apps work perfectly fine. The TV operates as if there has been no issues. The USB media player is just fine....except this youtube app. It drives me crazy cuz I rely mostly on my TV to watch youtube contents. I havta say the videos look much better on bigger screens like Sony bravias.
And I thoroughly agree with your concern and insight. Sony must handle the situation carefully cuz what you foresee does not look good in anyways.

I also own a 32 inch W700b and faces same issue. With no reason YouTube wont work. I used to restart my TV and router many times before I get it to work. Still haven't found the root cause

@thekorngear Since you said you use you use your TV for YouTube, think of getting a Chromecast. You won't have anyone these trouble and the YouTube video quality is much much better through Chromecast

Thanks so much. I will definitely try buying it as you have indicated, the operations on the TV is poop compared to what it is on desktop or mobile. I just also observed something. If I link my iPhone to my TV and then create a playlist to watch them on the TV the TV quickly shows an error number and tells me to report that ID which actually started since the middle of last year. I ignored it. The first time YT crashed it showed such error for long time. I think a Chromecast will relieve me from hassles.
However, I am glad the way I tortured the TV for past 2 years or so for using extensively the YT app. I played videos after videos, sometimes I would not shutdown the app properly, sometimes I even powered off (through remote) when the app was running ect. The TV served me without complaining.

BTW, @gokuljawahar , on a different note, even before this nuisance started I was thinking about upgrading to a entry level 4k HDR TV. How about Sammy's MU6100? :)

I am also in search of a Good 4k HDR TV and had checked Samsung last week. Reliance digital is giving good offer for MU6100. When I checked, they were giving 50inch TV for 70k, which I think I a good buy.

Hi friends,

I own KDL 48W700C and also faced the same issue 1 week back. I contacted via chat to Sony support and they mentioned that there is some issue and it will get fixed in 2 days time. But still today I checked and it was not working so I again contacted Sony support via chat and this time they mentioned that issue has been resolved. Follow the below steps which was provided by them and has also resolved my issue:
1) Goto All Apps and open internet browser
2) Press 'Option' button on remote and select browser settings
3) Select Clear cookies
4) Open youtube app now and check.

Edit: Pls note that youtube app seems to be updated now. UI design is updated and videp also has option to check the quality i.e. 1080, 720, etc.

Hi, thanks. I think it should work. I did it the other way around 3/4 days ago by going through the App>settings>reset app. And once you just cannot access the app then it can be done the way you have mentioned.
For my problem specifically, I have an update: I have noticed if I do not cast anything through my iPhone the YT app stays okay. Last time I reset the app was on Sunday night and since then no error loading of the app whereas, as soon as I had done the first factory reset I linked my phone and started to cast through it and that "report this id"error started to popping-up and eventually I ended up performing the 2nd factory reset. So, I guess unless I buy a chromecast I'd live without cast which is heartbreaking.
So, in general, the work around to the problem I think is now either going to the internet browser and delete all the cookies or resetting the app using the reset app button. Quite shocking to see even the Samsung smart app hub and Android bravia's also have this particular app problem.

Hi,

Before getting that white page error of YouTube even I had faced that issue of "report this id" error. I thought there might be problem from YouTube side and didnt checked further. Next day the app itself stopped working so I contacted Sony. You facing casting issue seems very strange as myself use casting very much from Android phone and its working perfectly fine. Can you check with other phones if you are still having issue?

Ìt wonders me too. It has been more than a week since the last reset and the app is working like it used to when it was bought. Not a single link/cast from my mobile phones and hence this suspicion arisen. However, I cast a video from my windows 10 laptop few days ago and it worked as it should. Okay I will try it from my Huawei droid. You know it is a charm when it is about casting camera-taken photos and videos and also youtube from a droid no matter how poor the droid's spec is.
BTW do ya know our W700B is dual band wifi capable? On 2.4 GHz it is 130 Mbps and once it is connected to 5 GHz it jumps up to 270 Mbps and the icon loading of apps seems a bit faster (or may be it is a placebo effect from my side). Too bad once the TV is connected to 5 GHz the WiFi Direct is turned Off by the TV. Since the TV is close to the router so I switched back to 2.4 GHz network.

Well, I didn't knew about it. Thanks for the info. But I cannot test it out as I don't have have any 5GHz wifi router. But will keep a note of this.
