LG OLED 65B6 and 65E6 purchase

I am also planning to buy an E6. The reason behind E6 is I currently have a LG 50 inch 4K 3D LED. The best price I got is 4.43 L from a vendor and the same TV is selling for 4.09 L.

Not sure about the experience from shopclues as this is a too good price..

I bought from Shopclues. No issues for me. Except show the actual vendors bill to LG engineers and not the Shopclues one. Otherwise they charge you for the wall bracket.

Whatever budget you prepare to buy an OLED, do account for three additional years of service. The B6 costs additional 1 lakh when you do that. I imagine E6 will be more expensive. Just a heads up. You don't want an OLED without extended warranty.

55E6 or 65E6? I think 55E6 should be available close to 2.8L. I did third demo of B6 and E6 next to each other. The E6 is clearly superior in picture processing.

Yes. I live in Mumbai. Will check with Croma during the weekend. Thanks

I got the following quotes without soundbar and extended warranty
55B6- 1.85
65B6- 3.10

Do you think this is the good deal considering the model is old and dealers are trying to clear their inventory

The extended warranty for 3 years is quoted at 40k

Amazon US price for B6 55" is $2k (1.3L), and for 65" is $3k (2L).

US prices are usually significantly lower than most other places. My two paise - if you are getting a TV that costs 1.3L in the US (that too, Amazon not a brick and mortar store) at 1.7-1.8L in India, that is quite a good deal - about 30% markup. The 65" however seems to be a 50% markup from the US Amazon price (3L vs 2L).

From whatever I am seeing, it looks like LG has been able to reduce the manufacturing cost of the 55" model - and its price has been steadily declining. The 65" however continues to command a significantly higher premium - possibly because the 65" OLED panel is significantly harder to make (especially error free). However, this is just conjecture based on price trends of OLED panels over the last year or so, and also based on some technical articles (side note: I have been looking into Universal Display, which is the company that supplies the dyes that make up OLED panels - their stock ticker in the US is actually OLED).

Short answer: 55" OLED, especially the B6 model seems to be in the sweet spot in terms of value for money and price:performance. In fact, its price is actually competitive with other top of the line non-OLED 55" panels.

65" OLED panels still command a significant premium however, and it looks like the markup gets further amplified when you consider the India markup. Having said that, 65" OLED panel price has also come down quite significantly from the astronomically high territory down to "affordable premium" territory. Just that it has not come down as much as the 55" panel price, relatively speaking.

Friends,

I demo'd the B6 and the Samsung SUHD 55 inches side by side to assess the PQ. The B6 is different level the blacks look awesome and am leaning towards it . I am replacing my 50 inch pana plasma thats still in mint condition for the outside that served me for 6.5 years before going bust.

The Dealer in chennai is quoting @ 177k but the piece is may 2016 batch.
pls advise on this price & piece is fine or is there room for further price negotiations

Regards
Vikram

Vikram,

I got same quote of 1.77L for 55B6 but that was including the sound bar offer. If you hunt, maybe you can get it for 1.7L. I am either for 65B6 or 55E6. So finalizing a deal.

thanks Shaiju,
They offered the sound bar but i asked him to discount that and give hence they arrived @ 177 Also does it make a difference if the product manufactured is may 2016

Thank you, i will watch out for the Model production date.
One dealer has informed me that LG is going all out in promoting OLED and LG is offering me to keep the 65 inches for 2 days so that i can make a more informed decision.
