Do we need it in Delhi/ NCR?
Tatasky and my FM antenna is on the roof top (second floor) of my house. I don't see a lightening conductor (house was built by a builder). But close to my house, say 100 ft there are 10 floor high towers.

Since these connections go into my receiver, such an event can fry the entire rack. But would such an incident fry the entire house so my worries are unfounded?

On the power supply side, I have an online UPS from emerson - it should provide surge protection from grid. But I can buy one if required.

Please suggest available products.

For TV - I see these on Amazon.de
Axing SZU 6-02 berspannungsschutzgert fr: Amazon.de: Elektronik

Wentronic SAT-berspannungsschutz: Amazon.de: Elektronik

For power supply going into online UPS, I need one single socket protector that can handle 15-20 amp load.

Read the UPS spec numbes. Hundreds of joules. Near zero protection. Equivalent or superior protection already exists inside the electronics. Near zero protection means the UPS can claim 100% protection in advertising.

Either a surge is earthed before it enters a building. Or it goes hunting inside. It finds earth destructively via appliances. And it blows right through any adjacent protector. Or does that 2 cm protector part stop what 3 kilometers of sky could not?

We have discussed this many times before. If you want to be safe, the best thing to do during lightning is to simply unplug all your equipment. You are watching a movie or listening to a song. They are not going to go away. Warranties given by companies are like insurance. The chance of an odd equipment burn out will be compensated by the hundreds of units they sell using the warranty as a USP. In any case, getting the money from them will not be easy. They will have a phalanx of lawyers finding holes in your claim.

Cheers

Buy a Belkin gold series surge protector for lightening strikes. It provides protection and insurance for upto 1 lac rupees is case something gets fried. I have 2 of them and once they protected my 46 inch led from a lightening strike as well as a 440v input during a thunder storm. But keep in mind that your wall socket does actually have an earth wire connected.
