Logitech Harmony suggestions required..

4000 is a great price but I bought from local Logitech dealer, just to ensure that in case anything goes wrong under warranty I can pressure for quick resolution. Yes I know otherwise also its possible but buying from local vendors sometimes is just mentally assuring.

On the other note, does anyone know if there a possibility to program Harmony 650 such a way that irrespective of the Device chosen, the volume button always control the volume of AVR?

So if we buy online who will provide service in Mumbai ??

After configuring the devices, use the learn method to copy AVR volume keys.

Can the Logitech Harmony unlock the Sony BDP-S490 Blu Ray player for making DVDs play region free? Anyone know?

In any activity, if the AVR is used, you can use/choose the AVR's volume to control the sound.

Yes I got that :)

However I am not using the "Watch TV Activity" (programmed it to start AVR, TV and Airtel DTH) much for one very specific reason.

I have an HDMI running from ARC of TV to ARC of AVR since I consume a lot of content on TV directly (in HDMI setup I use imput to be Cbl.Sat if AVR is in Stand by, this also helps me to watch TV without powering on AVR).

If I power on TV and AVR together, the AVR fail to shift to the Cbl/Sat sound and the sound starts coming from TV.

In this case if I individually restart AVR the sound immediately start coming out of Speakers thorough AVR.

This is a very know problem and is being discussed across many forums.

So what I do is individually start TV first and then Power on AVR ensuring I dont need to restart AVR again because of sound. If I follow this sequence, I have everything working in place.

Coming back to the original problem,
just discovered that even if I dont power on system using Activity, if I highlight activity on Remote.. I can control the Volume of AVR by Volume Button.

So in a way this is sorted. :)

Great!

Do some Paperwork before you start to personalize the Remote. Plan out on paper which all Hard Keys you would like to assign for any functions vis-a-vis the Device.

I did good personalisation in controlling Airtel DVR, functions like Record, Play, Pause, Delete did not come by default so I added manually and assigned as per my convenience.

Did you follow any tutorial or learned it thru manual only??.. If any guide or tutorial is available plz share.

As far as I can understand, the problem is that if you turn the TV and AVR simultaneously the AVR fails to detect the audio. Although if you first turn on the TV and then AVR after the TV is on you have no problem.

If this is the case all you have to do is set a delay in turning on the AVR, this can be done from the harmony application in your pc. So first the remote will turn on the TV then wait for say 10 secs and then turn on the AVR automatically.

The Harmony Web GUI is so easy that any tutorial, guide, etc. is not at all required. All you require is:

- Exact model numbers of your devices
- Logic on what activity will use what devices
- Some common sense :)

Received my Logitech Harmony 650 for just Rs.4000/- thru Snapdeal. Its a steal..:-)..Programmed it for my Denon AVR 1713, DVD player, LG 32'' LCD & Hathway HD set top-box.Added activities like "Watch movies", "Watch TV".It works flawlessly.Really an amazing product. It put aside my four remotes.Still two more remotes can be set up with it.Waiting for my WD live which I will set upon it..I am really thankful to all forum members who helped me to find it out at such a lower price. Thanks mgdelhi ankitbhargava & just4kix for helping me..:clapping::clapping::):)

Is the Rs. 4000 deal still available? Snapdeal now shows a price of 4.5k. eBay is 50 bucks cheaper. (Also, is Snapdeal inclusive of taxes?)
