Lyrita Pre/Power Amps being offloaded

I believe someones been to the guys house. Said it was quite decent. Though end of the day Viren's really outdone himself with the gm70 from what I've heard.

FM Brajendu bought a TT from the seller. He has also written a recommendation note on the seller in the OLX ad.

He bought the TT when he had come for the Mumbai HT meet.

Hi Core,

Have you got a chance to listen to GM70? Also have u listened to Amity speakers from Viren? I am looking at that combo. Also looking forward for is the latest pre-power combo from Acoustic Portrait. One advantage with AP is that the pre amp has a remote. I don't thin GM70 would have a remote.

Hi,

I have heard the GM70 intergrated amp and the GM70 monoblocks with the DHT pre amp.

The GM 70 integrated is a very good amp but if you are looking at the Lyrita amps,I would suggest going with the GM 70 power amps, either monoblocks or stereo and the DHT pre.

I have not heard the Amity speakers but have heard the Harmony One speakers with the GM70 amps and the 2A3 amps and they are good.

The DHT pre also works well with Solid State amps. I have heard it drive a Krell KSA100 and an Aragon power amp very well.

The Lyrita DHT pre/Power amp combination will best several mega buck amps for sheer musical enjoyment.

Rajiv

I have listened to nearly all the equipment that Viren makes primarily for the fact that i am at Delhi. Well i too would recommend the GM 70 alongwith the amity speakers as i feel that the GM70s would have that extra power and further the amitys are one of the best sounding speakers at that price point. I got a Lyrita pre, power ( with el 34s ) and harmony speakers since the last 6 years plus and quite enjoy them. Do give these pairings a listen and maybe you can decide. By the way whats the asking price for the pre and poweramps from the seller?

One advantage with AP is that the pre amp has a remote. I don't thin GM70 would have a remote.

I also thought so and wanted to trade in my AM1 for the latest Thiaga Pre amp but was told by the designer that my AM1 would be sonically superior to the Thiaga because of the usage of a potentiometer there instead of the Stepped attenuator that my pre has.

Even someone else also told me the same that the old AM1 and PM1 are superior to new Swara pre and power. I am planning to audition the Swara pre and power sometime soon as they are locally available in Bangalore.

BTW, I don't see the Thiaga pre and power in AP website yet. They seem to have introduced a new series called Swara for pre and power amp.

John,

Since a SET amp has few parts Viren does not put a remote control in his amps to avoid another part in the amp. Someone else I know wanted a remote with his SET but was not recommended.

Yeah, that makes sense. Lesser the number of components, better the music reproduction.

However, I would like to have a remote for the amp.

How was Harmony one different from Amity in the music reproduction? I am assuming Amity to produce more bass with the dedicated 12" woofer. Was the bass from Harmony one sufficiently good. I am a bass freak :).

Hi,

Talk to Viren. He will add a motorised volume pot and remote facility if you want it.

The biggest advantage with Viren/Lyrita is that he can build an amp with whatever customisation you want.

The Harmony ones with the GM70 amps had enough bass for me.

The best person to talk to is Viren he is only a phone call away.:)

Hi,

Do you have GM70 integrated amp or 2 GM70 mono blocks with a preamp paired with Harmony one?

I have the Lyrita 2A3 power amp and the DHT preamp. I use Altec horns with the Lyrita amps.

I heard the GM70 integrated at another forum members place in Madras driving Dali speakers .

The GM70 monoblocks and DHT pre and the Harmony One loudspeakers I heard at another persons house. This system I listened to a few times and it is superb.

The system makes music.

After talking to Virenji, he suggested the following for me

GM70 Integrated with Amity speakers.

I am going to contact a local person who has Amity speakers for an audition.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
