I just happened to check the Marantz website, there's absolute zero information on anything outside of the US. There is a link which lists all global sites, I tried a couple, but they're broken - return a 404 error.
Also, I generally cross-validate suppliers/ importers from the parent website before I do business with them. Now for Marantz the market knowledge is that the importer for Marantz is MZ Audio. While I find Marantz listed on the MZ Audio website, I don't find any page listing MZ Audio as an importer/ India distributor on the Marantz website!
What's up with Marantz? Are they also going the Onkyo way?

Onkyo website is back and they are listing the India distributor. Onkyo was bought by Premium Audio Co. ( Klipsch, Jamo ) In 2021.

Marantz is currently under the umbrella brand Masimo Consumer ( previously Sound United ), owned by Masimo Corp. if you Google them you’ll find recent reports confirming Masimo Consumer is going to be spun out as a separate entity but all reports suggest the Masimo Consumer brands ( Marantz, Denon, Polk, B&W etc ) are going to continue

MZ has been a long time Marantz distributor in India. You can visit them in Bandra, SV Road before the turning to BKC. Actually quite close to Bandra station (15 mins walk).
But I do agree with you that information regarding region specific updates for avr's etc are not properly given on their website. Their info is mostly US specific and less for Asian region.

MZ Audio has a distribution license from Marantz Singapore. Thats why they are not mentioned anywhere on the Marantz main website.

You could try contacting Marantz Singapore if you want. But rest assured they are the Distributors in India from what i know.

Cheers.

One of the reasons of me choosing Marantz over Denon was with the support experience my friend has had with MZ Audio. Being in Mumbai, Marantz was a no brainer
